Dark Sasami: I removed the bit about Trigun being a subversion because a subversion is a way of intentionally Playing with a Trope. Setting a series in a post-apocalyptic wasteland doesn't make it a subversion of the Japanese ideal of idyllic countryside—it just makes it something different.

Seth: I want to put a picture here but unable to find an appropriate screen cap from an example. I was considering just googleing for an Eden esque sprawl of green hills and using that. Everyone think that would be cool?

Kendra Kirai: If you give me some time, I know I could find a bunch of examples. Trouble is, they're almost sure to be wallpaper sized, not good for a thumbnail.

Looney Toons: Any good paint program can resize an image painlessly.

cctoide: Would the Maguuma Jungle from the Guild Wars Prophecies campaign count?
Scud East: What is a "literal overworld"?

Goldfritha: That's a Maxfield Parrish painting which I believe does capture nicely the "pristine wilderness" notion.

Stormy Dragon: Regarding the pristinge green fields used for the climactic battle in "The Phantom Menace", one review I like snarkily referred to it as The Battle of the Fourteenth Hole.
