Working Title: Fashion Dissonance: From YKTTW
Po8: Gah. This is going to be hard to write a good description for, because it doesn't really make sense. Every era's fashion is vaguely ridiculous to succeeding eras. I suppose there are extreme examples that should have looked silly to everyone even at the time (e.g. curl-toed shoes or pointy bras) — is this what the trope is really about? Because if so, then e.g. "polyester" doesn't really qualify, IMHO.
- Luc: This trope is about two separate, yet hard to separate things: Fashions that don't just tell you the year the show was made, they scream it loudly enough to deafen your eyes, and, as you mention, fashions that should have looked silly to the people wearing them at the time.
