Ununnilium: Is ENOZ in Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu one of those real-band-as-fake-band deals?

YYZ: That depends on who's doing what. I'm probably screwing this idea up in the transmission, but it seems to me the question is this: Do the band members themselves act, or are they just playing the instruments for the characters?

((sigh) I rewrote that last sentence at least nine times and I'm still not satisfied.)

Invader Ugg: Moved Dethklok to the first category. A CD with their music is going to be packaged with the Metalocalypse Season 1 box set.

No mention of Spinal Tap? There was an album put out of the songs features in the (mock-)rock-umentary which was described as a 'greatest hits' since the film featured songs from the entire history of the Tap's existence, not just from their latest album (Smell the Glove). Dunno where the Tap would fit, as the actors who portrayed them all played their own instruments (and most did so again in A Mighty Wind many years later) and an album was released (Spinal Tap even toured for a while for real) but the band was ultimately tied to the movie, and wasn't a lasting thing.

Tokenmaster: The Grand Theft Auto example mentioned rapper Madd Dogg being voiced by Ice Cube, but he was really played by Ice-T. Which is understandable, given how similar their names are. It's taken care of now.
