High Five: Was this put into YKTTW? And does this have any other instances other than The Big Bang Theory?
Gemmifer: YKTTW is not mandatory for creating a trope. I think this is a trope but to be honest, I can't think of more examples right know. We should leave this for a while and wait if more examples get added.
Looney Toons: I guess it goes without saying (but also without adding to the page) that I've encountered people like this in real life...
Tablesaw: Removed the Big Bang Theory example because I have non-white friends who are regularly criticized in exactly the way Rajesh describes. This looks like a dangerous trope. The difference between paranoid and suspicious isn't always clear.
Gemmifer: We don't refuse tropes because they're "dangerous". And there is a difference between alertness and paranoia.
Tablesaw: Maybe a better word in wiki terms would be "high-maintenance."
Gemmifer: Yes, high maintenance this could be. Let's see if it derails quickly and we can still delete it then.
fleb: I'm just relieved this isn't the YKTTW that was about real people having this attitude. *crosses fingers for no Troper Tales*
Glointhadark: I dont think this is dangerous. If there is any actualy racism involved then it is not an example of this trope.
I don't know how well known Ali G is outside of the UK, but I'd say Is It Because I Is Black would be the perfect name for this trope.
