Triterope: I know we're supposed to put the new examples at the bottom... but I refuse to let "Time Enough At Last" be the 20th example in this trope.
Darmok: I don't think the Stargate example counts. Not only does it not follow the description of the glasses being dropped or stood on, but Daniel Jackson frequently goes on missions without using them at all.
Ayalaof Borg: If Geordi's VISOR ever did get broken, the girl whose hair comb it was would be most upset.
