novium: I've also heard it used to indicate that someone has bought into a proposition to the extent that there's really no going back.

Ojuice5001: What interests me about this phrase is the question: What does the Kool-Aid company think about this usage. Obviously, it's an unflattering reference to Kool-Aid and it exists through no fault of the product or the company's own. So the Kool-Aid company probably isn't happy about it but, maybe their attitude is that there's No Such Thing as Bad Publicity.

Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: The trope is valid, a known phenomenon. The examples are still mostly in control (or have been edited into submission). Keep this.

The Jackal: This looks like it could be a valid trope, but if so it'd be better to restrict it to fictional examples. Like was stated in the cut request, a Real Life section could easily devolve into Complaining About People Who Agree With Ideas You Disagree With, so it'd be better if we banned Real Life examples preemptively instead of waiting for the complaining to happen then cutting them.

Anonymous Mc Cartneyfan: Fine by me.
