- This troper has always been a little confused by the notion that dogs don't have a concept of relative size, (illustrated by the notion that a chihuahua would get aggressive at a Saint Bernard and the Bernard would back down, apparently afraid) because of one thing: Dogs get more obnoxious and aggressive as they get smaller. Which is why a chihuahua would ever get lippy in the first place with something that could kill it by pooping.
- It's not specific to dogs. Badgers are renowned for besting bears through sheer aggressiveness.
- This troper is a firm believer that small dogs are no more or less aggressive than big dogs. It's just... concentrated.
- It is true that dogs don't have a concept of relative size. This means that even the tiny ones should be treated like the great big "scary" dogs. This doesn't stop people from thinking with their concepts of "cute" and babying their tiny dogs instead of training them properly, like they would with the less "sympathetic" dogs (Or at least the dogs more likely to tear the house down when not trained properly.).
- Chihuahuas(along with lots of smaller dogs) are more aggressive because the demand led to inbreeding.
