Nornagest: Interesting that a boy favoring the parent of the opposite sex is seen as effeminate, while a girl favoring the parent of the opposite sex is seen as... unchanged, or if anything more feminine. There are some exceptions, but in media they mostly seem to show up in single-parent situations -- which might imply an entirely different hill of beans.
