Cosmic Deadline launched as CosmicDeadlineDiscussion: From YKTTW

Working Title: Cosmic Deadline: From YKTTW

Danel: I'm considering removing the Harry Potter example, since it appears to have nothing to do with the trope whatsoever - as far as I can see, this trope concerns long-dangling plot threads being rapidly resolved as the end of the story approaches, especially when this concerns a number of antagonists being finally bumped off one after the other. The Harry Potter example concerns the way that the stakes are raised by a number of minor characters being bumped off prior to the final confrontation in order to raise the stakes. Quite radically different I think, and we may even have the other one.

Pro-Mole: Agreed. Since when Creevey is a stray plot point? And yes, we have heard from him since Chamber of Secrets: he enrolled for Dumbledore Army, or at least was on the first meeting at the Hog's Head. Harry Potter does exhibit Cosmis Deadline factors, but the fate of minor characters just don't fit.

Also, I think we haven't heard from Romilda Vane since Half-Blood Prince, either. Actually, ever.

Meems: I think whoever wrote the article means, "one thousand words of a one hundred page book," not the other way around. (A thousand words is barely a chapter.)
