I should point out that while coding usually does not involve reading code like that, sometimes debugging can. This Troper has frequently gone into code scanning for certain functions to see if sh_audio->i_bps was assigned a value before it was used. grep will often produce scrolling screens of cool code of code this way, even though you're not reading it.
