Working Title: Saved By The Enemy: From YKTTW

Idle Dandy: Could someone more familiar with these please add them under the correct medium?

  • In the Kate Modern episode "Answers", Michelle Clore orders her Shadow to carry off Lauren. As he is doing so, Terrence arrives and beats the Shadow in the face repeatedly with a golf club, apparently just for the hell of it. Lauren escapes.

  • Micah's example was parodied in Darths And Droids. "Summon Bigger Fish!"

  • The Dragon hordes and Mim at the end of Bone.

  • Remembered another example: Primeval Episode 6 featured a scene where Nick is rescued from a Future Predator when said predator is attacked by a Gorgonopsid.

Bobby G: I've added in the KateModern, Darths & Droids and Primeval examples. I'm not sure what the other one is, I'm afraid.

<random troper>: Would this trope apply to human 'bigger fishes' as well or is there another trope for those? For example, I'm thinking of a scene in Lord of War where the arms dealer guy has finally been caught by his nemesis, but he explains that a military officer who outranks his captor will soon show up and order his release due to his role in international politics (all of which promptly happens exactly as described).
