Working Title: Old People Are Jewish: From YKTTW

I think the working title is better; it's what I've been calling it for years in conversation. —-Fnord23

Fun fact: many of us have to leave home before realising that our parents actually have accents, meaning that just at the age at which I might have become a comdeian, my elderly father's Yiddish/Polish/French/Mancunian/{New York} accent started to sound particularly strong—-Fnord23

Vampire Buddha: Removed this pile of natter from the Grim entry:

  • This could be an example Yiddish as a Second Language, as one doesn't subjugate a race of people for centuries without picking up a few things. Interbreeding undoubtedly occurred, as well, making this possibly a completely straight example.
    • Not likely, since Yiddish only came into existence as a combination of Hebrew and Old German several millenia after the exodus from Egypt.
    • This may be the Translation Convention in play: "Yiddish" means "Jewish" to modern Americans (and vice versa)—-in the unlikely event that the 'toon had originated in 18th Century Britain or Holland, the mummy would have sounded Portuguese.
  • More likely, Rule of Funny here. Bear in mind we're talking about a series that makes Death into an incompetent whiner with a Jamaican accent.
    • ...for the sake of a one-off joke involving the word 'Limbo'.
