Gracie Lizzie: I'm just gonna ask here first. IIRC The Rocky Horror Show is an exception isn't it? I know it shares some elements with Manos The Hands Of Fate but isn't that just because RHS is a pastiche of B-Movies anyway? It's not a direct adaptation is it?
Otempora: It's also got some similarities to The Master And Margarita, but I think it counts as original.
Daibhid C: Am I right in thinking biographical musicals, such as Evita or I Am Star Trek don't count as original? Megan Phntm Grl: I think they count as original the same way a historical novel would.
Peteman: Would South Park, Bigger, Longer and Uncut count as an aversion?

N00b: Spamalot is an adaptation of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Mamma Mia is an adaptation of Buena Sera, Mrs. Campbell. (No credit was given because that in turn was based on a news item.)
