Morgan Wick: I think the troper use of Deconstruction and Reconstruction is Older Than They Think. Reinventing Comics, Scott Mc Cloud's 2000 (that is, pre-TV Tropes) sequel to Understanding Comics, uses them with something resembling their troper meaning to describe what happened to the superhero genre in the 80s and 90s.
