- Briffits and Squeans: The symbols and visuals that are often used to represent certain things in comic strips.
- Calvinball: A game that has no fixed rules.
- Frustrated Overhead Scribble: A scribble indicating frustration/anger emanating from a character's head.
- Noodle Incident: The characters mention an unseen past event, but are so vague about it that it's impossible to determine what exactly happened.
- Pointy-Haired Boss: The person in charge of the corporation is a complete idiot.
- Political Cartoons: Newspaper comics which satirize current events.
- Rebus Bubble: Images in Speech Bubbles used to convey thought process.
- Speech Bubbles: White bubbles containing character dialogue that have tails pointing at whoever is saying the dialogue.
