Character-Specific Pages (CSPs) are created when individual characters have so many trope examples that they can't reasonably be included on a shared page.
The Administrivia Character-Specific Pages policy details the rules that apply to these pages. All Character-Specific Pages must also follow the basic How to Create a Character Page policy, as well as the wiki's more general policies about spoilers and examples.
This cleanup thread handles the following tasks:
- Reviewing and approving new CSP proposals. All new potential CSPs must be reviewed and, if necessary, cleaned up before they're created.
- Agreeing on page names for new CSPs.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a new CSP is created.
- Reviewing existing CSPs if there's a concern that they need cleanup, or if it's believed that the character may no longer qualify for a page.
- Merging existing CSPs into other character pages when necessary.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a CSP is removed/merged.
- Creating, updating and cutting redirects, as necessary, to reflect these splits and merges.
Crowners are not normally required but, where appropriate, can be used to formalise decisions on any of these points.
If a character no longer qualifies for a CSP, it's often more practical to turn the CSP into a redirect than to cut the page entirely. This keeps the page history visible to users, and also helps to steer offsite 'inbound' traffic (search engine results) to the right place. With that in mind, cut requests for CSPs may be declined and referred to this thread if they don't have a clear consensus.
Comments linking back to this thread can be added to CSPs when needed - e.g. to confirm their creation was approved, to warn tropers that a cleanup is in progress, or to note the date and outcome of a more recent review.
We also have some more general threads for character page help -
- Character Page Cleanup: for trope misuse, zero-context examples, spoiler tagging issues etc.
- Are these character tropes?: for queries about whether particular tropes belong on a character page or on the work's page.
This is not a policy discussion thread, it's a cleanup thread — any requests for policy changes need to be raised in Wiki Talk.
Mod update 07 Mar 2024, reflecting new CSP policy, updated again 22 Mar 2024 to mention redirects for removed CSPs
- Other options must have been tried first, like splitting pages into further groups.
- The character's folder is cleaned up beforehand, fixing any Zero-Context Examples and Wall of Text entries and removing any outdated, misused, or non-character tropes.
- A character's folder is at least 6,000 words/40,000 characters (with spaces). Here is a byte counter.note
- The current character page bypasses technical limitations and requires a split up.
- A single character takes up the majority of a page or is disproportionately bigger than other folders.
Splitting a character into their own page is a major change and needs to be run by the community before it is enacted. Even if you believe a character meets these requirements, they should be run through this thread first. Having other tropers take a look can help spot issues you may not notice or believe to be issues.
Per How to Create a Character Page, character-specific pages should only include tropes that describe the character. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask the Are these Character Tropes? thread.
If you have concerns with a general character page, they have their own separate cleanup thread, as do the self-demonstrating character pages.

Willy Wonka and Robocop also have this problem of different incarnations in a CSP.

Its time to focus on my favorite video game Undertale, we have this:
- Undertale - Main Characters (85,728 bytes)
- Undertale - The Human Child (42,193 bytes)
- Undertale - Flowey (104,612 bytes)
- Undertale - Sans (133,933 bytes)
- Undertale - Papyrus (61,318 bytes)
- Undertale - Undyne (58,478 bytes)
- Undertale - Mettaton (49,178 bytes)
- Undertale - Asgore Dreemurr (45,248 bytes)
- Undertale - Spoiler Characters (103,275 bytes)
- Undertale - The Fallen Human (103,101 bytes)
If we merge only Frisk, Asgore, and Metatton we will have 222,347 bytes (or if we merge only Frisk and Asgore, we will have 173,169 bytes). As for Chara, leave their page intact.

A while back I brought up my idea on how to merge the Undertale CSPs here. In summary, the main character would be split into two sections based on area of introduction (which would be two pages of around 200-225k), and the other non-spoiler pages leftover could theoretically be merged into a single one. I held back on implementing this though since I didn't get much feedback on whether this would be feasible.
Regarding this post, am I good to create the pages?
I think they look good
I was looking on the character sheet for Soul Eater, and I feel like a lot of the faction-specific pages can be merged because most of them don't seem big enough to justify having their own page.
- Soul Eater DWMA - 30,444 bytes
- Soul Eater Death Scythes - 38,342 bytes
- Soul Eater Other Meisters - 34,067 bytes
- For the Meisters subpage, over half of those bytes (18,244 of them) are dedicated to Crona, who arguably doesn't even count as a Meister.
I feel like most of these could either be transferred onto Soul Eater Other, or create a new page titled "Soul Eater DWMA and Allies" or something.
As for the factions which are big enough to warrant having their own page:
- Soul Eater Spartoi - 114,047 bytes
- Soul Eater Witches - 73,949 bytes
- Soul Eater Not! - 19,252 bytes
- I'm aware that this is the smallest page, but Not is a spinoff series so it only makes sense for it to have its own page imo.
My issue with the Witches page though is that although it's big enough, it excludes characters who aren't witches, but work for witch characters like Arachnophobia or Crona. I think transferring it to a page titled "Witches and Allies" could work here, but I'm not sure.
Any other thoughts on those Halloween entries?

Seems like a merge imo
How about the ones that cover multiple continuities?
Depends. How big is each continuity folder. I would say Micheal is at least fine either way.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadSo, do we want to make a page combining both Laurels from the Arrowverse?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadx11 Speaking of Wonka, I think the characters from the 2023 prequel should be split from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Adaptation-Specific Characters into Wonka given it's not an adaptation of the original story.

Regarding Characters.Persona 4, the CSPs are like this:
- Characters.Persona 4 The Investigation Team (252,695 bytes)
- Characters.Persona 4 Yu Narukami (58,527 bytes)
- Characters.Persona 4 Naoto Shirogane (45,881 bytes)
- Characters.Persona 4 Antagonists (79,341 bytes)
- Characters.Persona 4 Tohru Adachi (90,469 bytes)
Should I go ahead or any other suggestions?
Edited by kuchiki222 on May 7th 2024 at 9:24:55 AM
Keep Yu and Naoto + merge Adachi.
Any more comments about Undertale stuff ?
Edited by StalkerGamer on May 7th 2024 at 1:56:20 PM
to merging Adachi. And merge Frisk, Asgore and Mettaton. Probably also make a page for both skeleton brothers?
Edited by animuacid on May 7th 2024 at 7:31:51 PM
I would leave Sans and Papyrus CSP's intact for now.
Anymore opinions on these suggestions for Legend of Korra?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadKeep only Korra, Asami and Kuvira intact. Merge the rest
Characters.Mega Man Zero and Characters.Mega Man X have a very messy index because not only it has uncenessary CSP pages, it also tries to contain X and Zero from different series into a single page.
- Characters.Mega Man X
- Characters.Mega Man X Heroes (18,322)
- Characters.Mega Man XX (70,715)
- Characters.Mega Man X Zero (97,958)
- Characters.Mega Man X Villains (144,818)
- Characters.Mega Man X Sigma (52,655)
- Characters.Mega Man X Heroes (18,322)
- Characters.Mega Man Zero
- Characters.Mega Man X Zero (duplicated)
- Characters.Mega Man Zero Allies (36,842)
- Characters.Mega Man XX (duplicated)
- Characters.Mega Man Zero Antagonists (184,599)
- Characters.Mega Man Zero Weil (51,675)
- Characters.Mega Man X
- Characters.Mega Man X Heroes: Axl, X in X, Zero in X (~121k)
- Characters.Mega Man X Villains: Villains and Sigma (~197k)
- Characters.Mega Man Zero: Zero in Zero, X in Zero, Allies (~94k)
- Characters.Mega Man Zero Antagonists: Merge Weil (~236k). It's pushing it, but this is a completed series so it's not gonna get longer than this for a while.
to Megaman approach
For now, I think Jason should keep his page as it's the simplest direction we could take and even if we wanted to merge his page, there's nowhere else to really put him as there isn't even a "Main Characters" page to do that and we'd be making matters complicated.
