"I loved the movies and I wanted to be like Marilyn Monroe. I thought she was so glamorous and everyone seemed to love her. I wanted to be like that and I told everyone I would be the next Marilyn Monroe."
Sharon Vonne Stone (born March 10, 1958 in Meadville, Pennsylvania) is an American actress, film producer, and former fashion model.
Stone modeled in Paris and Milan before pursuing an acting career. She's most famous for her Star-Making Role as Femme Fatale Catherine Tramell in the 1992 erotic thriller Basic Instinct. Afterward, she appeared in a number of similar films, none of which could replicate Basic Instinct's success. However, she also received critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Martin Scorsese's 1995 crime drama Casino.

This actress contains examples of:
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: In Japanese pop-culture, she remains the blueprint for femme fatales, generating parodies in the lines of One Piece (see "Namiron Stone" in the Detective Loomes Omake strip) and Detective Conan (see Vermouth's entire design).
- Ms. Fanservice: After the success of Basic Instinct, Stone was typecast in several erotic thrillers trying to replicate its success, such as Sliver and The Specialist.
- Star-Making Role: Two.
- While her role in the 1985's King Solomon's Mines adaptation was ravaged by critics, it still put her in the spotlight after a series of minor roles and kickstarted her career.
- Basic Instinct, which made her go from being "hey, it's that chick" to easily the most recognisable (and lusted after) Hollywood actresses. Sharon also, naturally inspired the "Basic Instinct" Legs-Crossing Parody.
- Star-Derailing Role: While her involvement with making Catwoman (2004) is usually brought up, it was a mere aftermath to the disaster that Sphere turned out to be. In fact, she took the role in Catwoman solely because there was nothing better for her after Sphere.
- Statuesque Stunner: Sharon is listed as being 5'9" in height.
