If you're in the middle of a mushroom boost, you won't be crushed by computer racers.
I'm pretty sure this also happens with the starting boost in one of my videos—either the first race of the Flower or Star Cup, where I harmlessly bounce off one of the computers before being crushed by another.
It Just Bugs MeThe finale is being processed right now:
Next will be my LP of karterfreak's ROM-hack. I'll start the thread for that tomorrow or Sunday, whenever I finish the first episode. See you there!
It Just Bugs MeWait, can't you continue in this thread?
I could. I just thought it's one LP, one thread here. If it isn't, I would gladly continue here.

It Just Bugs MeAbout the BC 1 glitch that happens sometimes on that ramp:
When turning, there are times when your hitbox extends a little past one block space by a couple of pixels, which results in you hitting the wall before you hit the bumper, resulting in what you described in your video. Thats the reason that the courses that use bumps in the original don't have them placed directly after a turn; The same glitch can happen in the original as well.
Looking good so far, but you know as well as I do that it only gets harder after mushroom cup.
Thanks for the explanation! Would you mind if I quoted it in the video description?
Here's my next video.
Never mind, it was still processing. Whew.

You can quote me on it if you'd like; However I'm not 100% certain if its the specific reason it happens.
Watching these videos really makes me realize I should publish v1.2. I brought it to a meet in Virginia and it fixed a few of the AI fallacies on certain courses (being too slow) as well as a few glitches that you luckily missed (There's a lapskip trick on Ghost Valley 1 for instance)
On another note, I'm really interested to see you take on my hack with mini-mode enabled. I don't think anyone outside of myself for testing has accomplished this yet, so good luck!
I've been practicing in mini-mode. My compulsion to use every character is biting me in the ass, though—I can get through every cup now with tiny Bowser or DK Jr., but I'm only gonna use Bowser on Flower Cup. Mushroom Cup with Yoshi (especially Ghost Valley 1) and Star Cup with Koopa (all of it) are still a bit too hard for me.
But that's what I like so much about your hack.
Here's Star Cup with (big) DK Jr.

It Just Bugs MeI'm improving on the tiny racing. Almost ready with Yoshi and getting there with Koopa. You'd think Koopa would be better on his own beach, but that course is kicking my ass.
at your falling into the hole at the end. I actually thought that, once you finish the fifth lap, the computer prevents you from doing that.

It tries its best. It lets you splash an extra time over deep water, for instance, but if I drift far enough into the deep water (which I do often at the end of the original Super Mario Kart's Koopa Beach 2), it can't bring me back in time.
It Just Bugs Me...Amazing. Simply, utterly, amazing. You, good sir, are truly a master when it comes to the racing of karts in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Thanks! It's taken me a lot of practice.
It Just Bugs MeVery nice racing so far!
Just a general tip for when doing lets play videos. Try to express a little more and avoid monotone voicing if you can. I find when I watch lets players that I really enjoy, they try to make it fun to listen to for the viewer, talking about funny things in the game or interesting things you might not have known. You cover the interesting stuff, but the monotone voice makes it sound less interesting. Just work on that a little and you'd make a good L Per!
Just my opinion on it, take it how you will Longfellow
I don't mind his monotone. It's kind of relaxing.
Thanks! I've actually gotten both remarks before, so if I do another LP I'll try to modulate my voice more while still staying relaxing. Are my intros better? I always try to start chipper but once I hit my natter I'm back to monotone.
It Just Bugs MeProcessing. I tried making my voice bouncier but smooth enough to be relaxing as well.
Agh, too bouncy! You did good on the game itself, though.
Eh. I'm gonna need to practice my voice as much as my racing ;)
It Just Bugs Me
How could you bounce off Donkey Kong Jr in Bowser Castle 3? Shoudln't you have been crushed?
