It better be.

I wouldn't call that "pleasant" considering what she was just going through. What that bunny was doing would be called harassment in the real world. Legally she should be handed a restraining order. Less logically I'd rather see her kicked out of there hard enough her ovaries cry for mercy.
(Psst. Links are explained in the "Show Markup Help" section. Just click it and read.)
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.Seeing that Kat's friend somehow turned into gothy, little spook-fish out of nowhere... dream sounds about right.
Plus don't forget about the transition into this whole sequence. If this isn't a dream after that, Good Old Jolly Jack needs a good old punch in the face.

The comics equivalent of PTSD.I so totally did not see that coming
At least dreaming is a relatively good sign, since it means Kat's actually alive and breathing? Plus you generally don't dream when you're knocked unconscious.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit. There's probably a trope for that. This is far from unprecedented.
The comics equivalent of PTSD.uximata: I took that for a Visual Gag.
Just thought - my guess right now is Kat sustained severe injuries (which, well, it would have to be to really knock her out) and required CPR. The "kiss" and the bit preceding it - blow to the torso, both participants in close quarters breathing hard - is that CPR manifesting itself in the dream. If I'm correct, she'll be waking up soon.
The comics equivalent of PTSD.Let's hope it's Vanity giving the kiss of life, then.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.>Walk into thread thinking it's a discussion about the term "sequential art" or avant-garde comics.

The comics equivalent of PTSD.The current arc is not indicative of the majority of the comic, anyway. Most of the characters are human or things strange and unusual.
This one's just focusing on a small set of characters.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.@Ezekiel: If your theory is true, we have just the trope for that: Crashing Dreams.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."From the trope page:
Vanity was also passed out...
I vote in Ray giving the kiss.
or maybe Egg...
Here's a thought... Vanity's hair is wavy/curly in earlier strips but in this dream world it's straight. It's probably just how she had her hair in college but, I like to WMG that its a sort of manifestation of the near-drowning.

Real Life rwby roseKat woke up... and reacted much the way I would have expected.
No face-huggers in sight.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.....
Where did the candles came from? The room has just been flooded.
I don't think it's the same room... but either way, the room they were in didn't have a lot of water in it when they cut scene.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.Yeah, I think you're right. We'll have to wait to see who moved them/lighted the candles.
Heh, I'm amused at her scraping her tongue clean. Such a natural response.
Real Life rwby roseAmusing as this interlude is I think it's starting to drag a bit...
The comics equivalent of PTSD.I'm fairly sure the room they are in is surrounded by plot points. I can see them. They have simply not been commented upon yet.
Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.
So how come their isn't a thread of this yet, eh?
Furthermore, as... pleasant as the recent strip (www.collectedcurios.com/SA_0633_small.jpg I don't know how to link) is, I sure this is All Just a Dream.
