Sorry guys, I really honestly meant to go through the wicks myself, and started to, but Real Life takes priority. But my initial impression followed the trend more or less: I didn't see any misuse. Which considering what happened with The Umbridge is pretty astounding.
As much as I really dislike the name, I'm not going to try and force the issue if the wicks are coming up good. But there's 400+ of them and I simply can't check them all myself.
From the multiple checks made, there does not seem to be enough misuse to justify renaming the trope in face of good in-wiki usage and good inbound links. This one falls squarely under the "It's not broken" category according to the evidence presented.
Strongly opposed to a rename in this case.
Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project!Although I wonder if that speaks to the merits of the name, or the diligence of the many gamers we have as tropers.
The result is the same, but the name is still wrong, as "the" gives no context. Even just replacing it with "middle" does something.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. There is no misuse. The name is working. Any theoretical argument about why this is a bad name that shouldn't work is useless next to the very hard evidence that it does.
There's really no discussion left to be had here.
Torment liveblog is still hiatusing. You can vandalize my contributor page if you want something to do.Yea. You can argue till the cows come home about how terrible you think a name is, but that's not going to get a rename through. Particularly when there's proof that this is being used remarkably well.
Locking.

^ Yeah but it wasn't until later in the kart series that his stats were actually displayed. You know what I mean.
