I feel like cosplaying as the Scout for SMASH! 2011. This will be my first cosplay ever, so do you guys have any tips for a newcomer to this fine art?

Don't halfass it. Try and find good materials and aim for visual accuracy.

Use reference pictures. For everything. Especially color matching cloth, but for props and stuff too.

(Of course, the color thing is not as much of an issue when it comes to TF 2.)

I’m gonna be attending Otakon, and one outfit is Hank Pym (the red jumpsuit Gadgeteer Genius version; my fave). Other than the jumpsuit and Avengers ID badge, I’ve got a couple of gadgets as props. Should I keep it simple, or put more effort into the look?
