Honestly, he did this to himself.◊
(still hate figuring out links on the new site)
I’m somewhat glad
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI did expect her to have a spare body in one way or the other. Oasis going full Carrie on everyone is something I didn't expect.
“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.I wasn't too clear - did Oasis take everyone out with her, or did she just immolate herself?
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Chapter 72 - Animu has them on some strange world, forced to scavenge for food. It looks like everyone has a glowing avatar over their shoulder that shows their thoughts or emotions. Except Zoe...
Full name seems to be Anima: Evolution .-.
Ah, so that bit of blue spotted nearish Zoe in some shots really is her shoulder buddy, which is apparently an emoji rather than a more complicated being. So much for my theory that Zoe never really survived...
Still could mean she's Not Right somehow, as Zoe herself appears to be worrying.
Sigh. Threatening to kill Zoe again, Pete? Can't you find some new schtick here?
Well something mysterious is going on also yeah they really did accidentally kill and eat intelligent friendly bird person didn't they?
So what is the thing up with Zoe being able to see red anima?
I assumed it had something to do with her dying and being brought back (or, alternately, that she's another dimenson's Zoe that got pulled in as a Replacement Goldfish).
She's not another dimension's Zoe. She's from the same dimension as the rest of the main cast, but Riff used timeline trickery to restore her after she was put in a coma due to the 4U nanites saving her life but not her mind.
I'm really digging this setting. The concept of not being able to hide one's emotions or surface thoughts (outside of being a "bedevil") is rather fascinating, and I get why this would particularly bother Gwynn, who has had hiding parts of herself as part of her character since the beginning.
I will admit, I'm still not certain why she's the "cheesemaker". Have we seen her make any cheese? Or is this an "anima" thing with her avatar being a cat?
When we first see her in this setting, she's churning something, which presumably is part of the cheese-making process. (Although in real life, that's how you make butter, not cheese..)
Hey. So, I remember finding Sluggy Freelance back when I was in high school. Came across it thanks to this particular 8-Bit Theatre comic. I read a ton of Sluggy back then. Still love the comic, but I don't like reading one new comic a day. I'd rather wait for a decent chunk of story to be made and then read it at once. The last time I swung by Torg was hanging with the Minion Master. I remember an epic argument about what the best food additive was. Anyway, I've decided I'm going to pick up reading right with the first comic not yet in a book. I recall there being a big incident where we lost both Zoe and Riff, and Riff ended up in another dimension. Thing is, this is Sluggy, and there's a ton of plot points going on, and it's been years since I read it, so I could really use a refresher as to what has been going on at this point in the comic's life. Like, what was the deal with Bun Bun and the Ocean's Unmoving thing? Where was Oasis and Hereti Corp at this point? I just need a brief recap is all I'm saying.

...yeah I don't even know where to begin with a summary here. It's probably easier to just read it at this point honestly—[[Understatement a few things have happened]] since then.
deviantArt | TwitterBrief summary? Dr. Schlock took Hereti-corp past the Moral Event Horizon. Kusari's identity is revealed, and it's someone familiar. Oasis got closure. HC is no longer operational in any reasonable manner. And Torg and company are currently on the lam via the Dimensional Flux Agitator in a world where little glowing figures by people's shoulders reveal their true emotions, except for a handful that only Zoe can perceive to be evil.
Oceans Unmoving turned out to be mildly plot-related, but not really all that much.

If you can't help by giving me the information I asked for that's fine. But please don't spoil the stuff I'm about to read.

Sorry. I misunderstood your desire for a recap. I now understand you mean an "up to now" summary on that comic rather than "up to now" summary. I've put my summary under a spoiler.
Looking at the wiki, it actually does have summaries for every chapter. It's probably just best to read that. I didn't want to use the wiki, because they are always full of unmarked spoilers, but if they have summaries specific to chapters, I think I'll be okay.
Actually, If the summaries are safe, I think I'll read the summary for all of Sluggy Freelance from the start. I mean, I'd LIKE to reread Sulggy again from the start, but that would take at least a month.

All these years, and Pete's cliffhangers still get me. You think I'd be used to it by now.
