The first one I ever read might have been Commander Kitty, definitely way before 2009. Maybe even 2003.

Questionable Content was probably the first one I went on an archive binge for. I found it when they introduced Marigold.

It was a newspaper comic that my paper stopped carrying, but its syndicator kept.

Mine was... oh, huh. I actually don't remember any more.

I think it might have been Awkward Zombie.

Off topic a bit but I got all my other webcomics from the links at Turn Signals On A Land Raider, then links from those websites etc. Which meant that it took me a couple of years to even know of Penny Arcades existence. Seriously, pretty much no one links to them, probably because it's assumed everyone's heard of them anyway.

Considering it hosts one of if not the second largest video game convention in the world, now has 2 of them and it's own video game, yeah, I think they assume most people have heard of them

Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.

Fluble was my first when an LJ friend linked it back in early '02, but by then it had already ended. The one that I ArchiveBinged and kept following afterward (for a while, at least) was College Roomies From Hell; an RPG site I used to visit was running it in Hungarian, that's where I saw it first.

Mine was The Devils Panties. Linked off Tamora Pierce's website, I archive binged the whole thing when I was about fifteen. I don't read it anymore - that was back when I barely knew what a webcomic was, before I decided journal comics bored me. I've still got a kind of nostalgic affection for it, though.

My first was Neglected Mario Characters (which has not aged well in my opinion), followed by Bob And George. I've changed my tastes significantly since then.

Megatokyo was my first way back in 2003. To be exact I actually found it on a college computer via a saved linked left behind by a mysterious stranger. My initial impression of the comic was somewhat receptive back in the day, mostly because the comic still predominantly consisted of Gallagher-Caston strips that were generally easier to read and were somewhat humorous. Since new Megatokyo strips were never regularly released, I rarely revisit the site after the Archive Binge (unless I drop by the forums, and that stopped after I found Deviantart in mid-2003). A couple of years down the line, it became apparent that the comic has become too convoluted and unfinished to follow. Dropped it in 2006.

I also happen to discover Better Days in 2003. The potential of the plot (single mother struggling to raise a fraternal twin) was very intriguing, but Naylor managed to squander all that by reducing the comic to an Author Tract and resorting to ridiculous plot developments that blow the believability of the storyline to shit. I only continued to follow it to the end out of Bile Fascination. Dropped Original Life after a couple of months.

Yeah, an absolutely nasty start.

I've heard of a few others', but Homestuck was the first one that reeled me in and took my ass around town and back.

I found a User Friendly collection in a Borders a long time ago. Didn't properly get into webcomics until later; started glancing at XKCD and Pixel on occasion, then TV Tropes introduced me to plot-driven webcomics proper.

Mine was...well actually it wasn't The Class Menagerie it was something else that had Vince Suzukawa as a guest but I didn't stick with that one for long so I'm just going to say The Class Menagerie which managed to end before some of yous guys' first webcomics began, I reckon.

My first comic was one called Dragon Warrior 101. It was back when I was starting to get into Dragon Quest. Too bad the comic ended prematurely about 7 years ago...

My first ever webcomic was probably Cyanide And Happiness but after a few hours of the Archive Binge I realized that most of them just weren't that funny. The first webcomic that I actually liked a lot was XKCD

XKCD, definitely. My second was either PHD or Girl Genius, not sure which... and after those two came El Goonish Shive, if I recall correctly.

El Goonish Shive was my first one. Admittedly, I was into the tf factor of it, but I got more into the story over time. At the same time, I got into Mother 2: Harmony. I still follow their Earth Bound related stories and hope to get the novel written by its writer.

I went to the library. And there on the manga shelf was megatokyo. Some one had put it with the manga. At the time I didn't even know there where comics on the internet! Next thing you know, I was archive binging. Then I discovered Starslip Crises (now Starslip.) After that there was no stopping me.... BWAHAHAHA.[lol]

La Valse des Reves. I liked the art; it struck me as a fusion between anime and Western influence. The story is slow going, though.

I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting Agency

Since we've got an almost entirely new crowd roaming around nowadays, it's time to bump this.

For me, it was Questionable Content, followed closely by Gunnerkrigg Court and Sinfest.

Well it has been a while but I don't recall it... but one of the ones that went into the heart on the first ones was RPG World, another was NPC (not updating and it is on drunkduck) and after a while it got to be Girl Genius. I took a time I took the wotch as a drug of choice but it got as tiresome as trying to stop eating potato fries with a hamburger.

Megatokyo was a good one in the initial drug shots and now what can I say perhaps the noob comic got a lot of my free time before the order of the stick.

Well here goes nothing

I think mine was Venus Envy, which I began reading in 2002, about, when I was just entering college (or I was possibly still in high school). I think I'd stumbled on it from a transgender information site. From the same sort of stumbling is likely where I came across Closetspace, A Wish For Wings, Unicorn Jelly, The Wotch, Kagerou, and El Goonish Shive. Various reasons lead me to not reading any of them anymore, though. I gear towards superhero, anyways.
