I really like them so far. I just finished Pull Me Under and am on These Walls. I gotta get to my iTunes store soon. smile

Yeah, I've heard so much unnecessary hate for James La Brie (the vocalist). It makes me sad, he's good both in studio and live. =/

Yeah, it had to happen mate. If I recall correctly, I liked his use of atmosphere, the song title In Mc Donalds, and that's it. I especially didn't like his usage of vocal samples.

I wish i had money to buy stuff with via iTunes, alas i do not.

Also, liking DT so far. Great, maybe even sampleworthy evil grin.

I agree with you on the vocal samples, mostly because their made with what sounds like a talk program.

I love the atmosphere though, and how swampily urban everything sounds.

I can see why some people don't like him. He doesn't have a very metally voice. I'm fine with that but just look at other metal bands they all have much darker-sounding vocalists.

Re: Daze in other thread: I'm so lost. I don't follow any bands. The only band I can name from my mp3 player is The Beatles. I remember composer's names, sometimes... >_>

Eh, it's alright. Maybe someday I'll pick it up and like it a lot more.

Also, I refuse to use iTunes. foobar2000 is the much superior audio player. =D

You'll get a music liking eventually, i hated any and all music till i was about 11 or so. There's actually a name for it (which i can't remember off the top of my head) and it's not uncommon.

Try Nerdcore rap, it suits you.tongue

I have plenty of music! It's just not by bands! It's mostly by orchestras and stuff. Yeah. I can't participate in these conversations. I don't even listen to rock most of the time. >_>

I didn't get into music until I was 17.

I'm so late. At the same time, I can look with satisfaction at my current music taste and tell myself how much better it is than some of my other friends. :D

Ditto to what Neccy said. And there isn't anything wrong with orchestras.

also, i love this even though the video is rude.

That sounds like... oh yeah, we're in the music thread.

That's two DT songs, i'll listen to more soon, but i've got work to do too.

If I wanted rock then I'd get some. It's not like I'm somehow disallowed. In fact I'm kind of annoyed that more-or-less all of the music produced nowadays is rock. Hype Aversion.

I'll show myself out.

All music is not rock.
There are about 100 main genres of music, and subgenres number in the ten-thousands.

Uh... what else is there, exactly? I mean the stuff I don't like covers most of what's on the radio. I'm picky.

I'm fairly certain that aside from The Flobots, no bands discussed here have ever had radio play.

The Big Five are Rock, Hip-Hop, Country, Electronica, Dance, and Jazz, but there are many others.
Like rhumba! 'Dances stupidly'tongue

Try Blues like Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Or maybe Jazz like John Coltrane.

Or maybe Indie (my personal favorite although a subgenre of rock) like Modest Mouse

Or maybe New Age like the Penguin Cafe Orchestra.

Etc. Etc. Etc.

I like classical, some jazz, some hip-hop, a little electronic (electronica, chiptunes).

Neh. Go back to talking about bands, I'll quit bothering you.

Stevie Ray is really cool. So is Modest Mouse. Zudak doesn't agree about Modest Mouse.
