By the way, how do you all think I'm doing with this? I'm a tad worried that it's gotten far too wordy...

Also, sorry if the screenshots are a tad dark. Torches don't work too well with stealth, so I have to go through this without any light source.

Also also, Intermission.

There's a trick to unlocking things in this game, that will let you pick anything with a ridiculously low security level. I can pick locks with five pins in 'em with almost no "skill" at all.

I'm sure we can teach ya.

Ah. Just looked it up. T'would have been nice if that was explained somewhere. :P

Of course, just throwing lock-picks at the damn things until they open is equally effective. Especially when you're in the Thieves Guild and can get hundreds of lock-picks for relatively cheap.

You seem to be doing pretty good. Also, for sign... I have no recommendations. I don't really remember any. The only ones I remember are the useless ones.

Also:

Zudak: OUTLANDER

*punch* No, damn it! I heard that enough in Morrowind! I refuse to even see that word in this thread! ...No, but really. For you people who played Oblivion and not Morrowind, that was the first word every goddamned person in the game said to you when they saw you. SD:FJSD:JLFK

No, but you're doing good, Miijhal. :D

There's a link in the first post that lists all the birth signs and their effects in the first post.

Thanks. :D

I am digging your Liveblog, Beloved Sovereign. And yes, the one-armed nudist zombie freaked me the fuck out when I first saw it too. As for the birthsign, I remember the Shadow being very useful back in Morrowind, though it may not help you that much if you already have Illusion as a class skill.

Not actually back.

Oooh. This makes deciding easier. If I can't find any consensus in the suggestions, I can just choose whatever comes up as #1 using this: [1]

I wound up with:

  1. Mage
  2. Shadow
  3. Ritual
  4. Tower
So it looks like I'll be doing Mage if there aren't any new suggestions by the next time I play.

I vote Thief. I think that's what I picked in my game too. But yeah, it seems useful, especially for a thief. That's what you're going to be, right? I remember that being discussed earlier.

If you're going to use magic at all, I'd suggest Mage, honestly. Khajit get crap for magicka.

The only thing that's absolutely certain is that I'm taking Sneak as a main skill on a Khajiit. That would be good for a theif.

  1. Tower
  2. Mage
  3. Theif
  4. Shadow
  5. Ritual

Looks to be The Tower now. Interestingly, that means I can make a custom 'Reflect Damage' spell without going to the Shivering Isles.

Alright, I should have the next part up by tomorrow, seeing as it's pretty short. All the screenshots are uploaded already, although I may go through another run just to pick up a few that the game apparently didn't get taken the first time around.

Also, for the sake of efficiency, I'll be choosing the skills and attributes next, so suggestions would be appreciated (especially attributes).

Attributes: I know you can only pick two, but I have three here: Strength, Agility, and Luck. Pick and choose as you will. Luck would be good for a thief, yes? And so would Agility, but you want to fight well, too.

Skills: Blade, Light Armor, Sneak, Speechcraft, Illusion, Restoration, and Block/whatever you feel like.

Um, yeah. There you go.

Luck is actually one of the best and most versatile attributes in the game. Everyone is helped by a high luck attribute. Only problem is it's a pain to level, since no skills are directly linked to it.

Already took The Tower. However, now The Thief has two votes for it, so when I finish the tutorial, I'll swap it.

Unfortunately about the only things I can suggest are "not Atronach because it changes how the game plays, very much not Serpent, and probably not Apprentice if you want to survive."

With Emperor Septim VII awaiting a response, Chelsea racked her brain to recall the name of one of the constellations to appease to crotchety old man.

“…Castle…Spire…Thing…”

Uriel Septim stared her down for a moment, before commenting, "Today the Tower shall prove a stout refuge in time of need," apparently satisfied with her answer. Well, maybe. He quickly turned grim, spouting off about how his end is near and how death calls him.

“Is this about me turning you down?”

Done talking, the emperor and his guards prepared to continue with their escape. In the process, one of the guards, Baurus, handed Chelsea a torch and told her to carry it, as if to prevent her from using her bow. Wise choice, Mr. Baurus. Wise choice.

Unsurprisingly, as they continued on though the passageway, they were ambushed again and again by the Mystic Dawn assassins, who came in through many convenient entranceways, all placed in locations perfect for an ambush. The architect who designed this death trap hopefully was hung for it. Ambushes, however, did little to help them, as they were mercilessly slaughtered, leaving Chelsea to rummage through their corpses and retrieve her used arrows.

Having finally made it to the end of the escape route, Daurus signaled everyone to hold up while he checked the area. After walking about ten feet, and completely ignoring the many openings into the room, he declared that everything was clear, and everyone followed. Well, everyone except Chelsea, as she had ignored his command and was waiting ahead of them.

The group headed towards the exit, but discovered that it was blocked. Definitely a bad day for them. Fortunately for them, there was still one room they hadn’t checked, but unfortunately for them, it was empty. Baurus commanded his newfound criminal ‘ally’ to protect the emperor while he looked around, because it’s always a great idea to leave a potential murderer alone with the emperor of your country. Especially when they completely ignore you and run off into the middle of a group of assassins, resulting in your only other ally dying.

Oops.

Eventually, Chelsea did head back to protect the emperor. He, being such a wise man, entrusted her with a priceless amulet that could determine the fate of the world and told her to talk with a man named Jauffre.

“I wonder how much I can pawn this for...”

Having given the amulet to Chelsea, Emperor Septim received a knife to the skull by an assassin who popped out from a trap door in the wall to his side. Just in case it wasn’t obvious enough that the architect who designed the passageway was a traitorous bastard. Baurus promptly rushed toward the assassin and gave him a good bonk to the head while Chelsea showed her respect for the fallen emperor by looting his corpse and stripping him naked.

Baurus lamented on his failure to protect the emperor as he fondled the corpse, then turned to Chelsea. He asked where the amulet had gone, and she stated that the emperor had entrusted her with it (the stupid bastard).

“He must have seen something in you (the stupid bastard).”

He handed her a key and told her to escape through the Imperial sewers (because you can’t have a generic fantasy romp without sewers). Out of curiosity, though, he inquired as to what her profession was…

(You'll have to excuse me if this seems a tad rushed. It was.

We're at the point where you pick your main attributes and skills. I need one more attribute and one more skill right now.

Aside from that, using console commands, you can resurrect characters. If I resurrect the assassin that killed Uriel Septim, he can be recruited as an ally. Should I do this?)

I say go for the resurrection. It'd make for funny roleplaying.

Also, how the hell did you strip the Emperor?

~, then clicked on his corpse, then entered 'removeallitems'.

That can be used for much hilarity. For example...

Are you ready for a MANWICH?

(Oh, and don't try it on the Mythic Dawn assassins. The game doesn't like when you do that.)
