Yeah, maybe you would do better with a Servant that had a personality or role contrasting with the one of your Master.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Well, I'd quite like to see where this goes, but I'm...not the world's fastest player (I kind of take my time with writing up my entries). However, I got quite attached to the character; if nobody minds, I'd like to keep at this.
She doesn't even have to be in the War, she can just hand around the periphery and advise/observe/report to the Association/whatever, which would work around my posting issues. Maybe the counterpart to the Supervisor?
What sayest the GM and other players?
Play Again? Y/NI'd be fine with it. But I think it would be better if everyone interacted in the story a lot. Not just staying in the sidelines.
Well it's up to you zeroplusalpha, if you want you can be a Master, an Overseer for the Mages Asociation or whatever role you like to play.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything. It seems kinda hard to do as much from the sidelines, since the narrative is focused on the Masters and their servants. You'd be...*shudder*...like an NPC.
Hmm...I could use some help working on...well, everything, but off the top of my head role/personality, and powers (and limits).
First off, is there any Servant who particularly wants my character as a Master? Or have any nifty ideas about what to do with my character? For whatever reason, I'm having a hard time making up my mind (about anything, not just this).
- Maybe they're someone's apprentice or lab assistant or grad student, with little hope for advancement because they're broke, kinda wimpy, and don't have much in the way of connections or influence.
Second, I should probably better define my character's powers, and decide which ones I should keep and which I should drop.
- First off...five to fifteen mystic circuits? Or maybe more; the first five or so are okay, the rest are a bit sketchy, or secondhand. Od of maybe fifteen to thirty units of Prana? Kinda hard to know what that means my character should be able to throw around, but probably not going to be firing the Wave-Motion Gun.
- Everybody loves the Mystic Eyes, but it is mentioned as being a pretty high level feat. I mean, you'd have to be very skilled (or crazy) to be fooling around with your Magic Circuits and your eyes. Charm or Whisper probably fits the character best, if they have them.
- The ill-defined bio/self-powers;
- Autosurgical; can perform unanesthetized surgery on the self with a high degree of success. Skills carry over to others, sort of; the patient probably wants to go under anesthesia, or better yet, not go under the knife at all.
- Pain tolerance out the wazoo. ("Of course it hurts. But it is just pain.")
- Some degree of autonomic control and...well, I wouldn't call it regeneration, more like having a really adaptive body, but "I'm a lot tougher than I usually appear; that which does not kill me can be repaired, more or less, eventually.". Goes with the auto-surgery.
- And from the others comes...well, body snatching, stealing organs and magic circuits and whatever other bits of post-consumer product look handy.
- Autosurgical; can perform unanesthetized surgery on the self with a high degree of success. Skills carry over to others, sort of; the patient probably wants to go under anesthesia, or better yet, not go under the knife at all.
- Voluntary Shapeshifting. At least able to mimic other people. One-Winged Angel would be an interesting way to go out, though I will not turn into a Snake, it doesn't help, unless I'm James Earl Jones. Maybe a humanitarian lesbian giant spider girl, though.
- Being ridiculously flexible probably goes with this.
- Tai-Chi? Capoeira? Drunken Boxing?
- Being ridiculously flexible probably goes with this.
Ugh, looking back on this I should probably just name my character Sue.

[[tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=12919183980B30760200 Liveblog of]] John Carter Of MarsSemesters are starting to come to a close. In about 2 weeks I should be able to start this sheet thing.
Also, True Name of Saber: Osla Big-Knife.
Alright lets see Dr Rockopolis.
First, in my opinion, you should ditch One-Winged Angel, after all it's the Servants that are supposed to do the hard fighting.
Second, you mentioned before that your character would be the Magic World equivalent of a nerd right? So I think that after being so involed on her research there wouldn't be much time to practice martial arts.
Third, the bio powers, you may keep them but think it would be better to see them as both an advantage and a flaw. Maybe she needs to steal body parts on a regular basis to keep herself going.
The shapeshifting can be your characters primal power that allows him or her to adapt to the new parts but at the cost that it requires a lot of power to do so. In the end she may look good on the outside but a mess on the inside. She needs the to steal magic circuits to keep herself from falling apart and funtioning.
With that your character may get a motivation to seek out the Holy Grail, to wish for a more stable body or to gain the knowledge to get rid of the flaws in your ability, allowing her to become a perfect body snatcher and riding her of the need to prey constantly on other people to survive.
With this you may keep the Mistic Eyes with the explanation that she didn't make them herself but simply stole them.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Wow, why didn't I think about that?
Hmm...an apprentice fooling around with abilities beyond their ken in a bid for power? The character saw Dangerous Forbidden Technique as the only way to get ahead, in addition to being totally cool.
Though, being a nerd, that seems like either a Critical Research Failure, or just not thinking things through. Never mix spellcasting and drugs, I guess. Or it hints a much more sinister and uncaring personality.
Let's see...Magic Circuits, can probably be 'borrowed' from muggles with one or two "They weren't using anyway, and they're better off this way. I'm a doctor, so you know I'm telling the truth." (probably not actually a doctor). Maybe harvesting from an enemy or already dead magus. The originals are still good, and there's maybe...thirteen of them. The rest are secondhand, of varying states of quality or decay.
As for biological material, organs and such...do we take the easy way out, and say they work with animal tissue? Or does the character steal from liposuction clinics, for the stem cells? Or are they going to be a full on, hunted by the Burial Agency, humanitarian.
Hmm...how often does the character have to slake their appetites? Once a month? Quarterly? As the opportunity presents itself? I was thinking it'd be an interesting twist if, rather than getting stronger, the need is getting weaker, as they get used to and develop more control over their powers. Just wouldn't be as angsty, though I can still see them wanting the Holy Grail as a shortcut, which might segue into An Aesop about not taking shortcuts like Dangerous Forbidden Technique. Or possibly it's getting worse, or canceling out, as all the borrowed stuff keeps failing.
And with that kind of fatal flaw, they're definitely a Type-Moon character. Especially if they're telling themself "I'm a good person, I'm a good person...OM NOM NOM!"
One-Winged Angel was kinda a joke; if they're going to go out, that's a fun way to do it. Possibly throw in an Akira death, or maybe a Shapeshifter Swan Song would be better.
EDIT: You know, the thing is, what do you need to be a humanitarian for, that you can't get from other sources. Like Hu-Fu. Like vitamin pills and food? Maybe make them a Big Eater? It's probably easier to get it straight from the source, as it were.
Or perhaps, ironically, it's all psychosomatic; the character just thinks that it's necessary. Probably read too much vampire fiction.
And, there's still the option "I just like the way it tastes."

[[tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=12919183980B30760200 Liveblog of]] John Carter Of MarsI feel like getting started soon so we're actually doing stuff. People can join in as we're going. Of course, unless we need a few more servant sheets (which it looks like we do).
Soon, but not yet, as you said we lack some character sheets and to this moment there are only two complete pairs. Well start when we have three complete pairs and then if one of the people who play Masters want to start playing before they summon their Servant they can do so.

Really good, Attila is officially approved.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.I'm still waiting for Tinweasel to get back to me about character ideas, but if he doesn't, I'll just randomly pick from the ideas I have and send one of them to daltar.
So it occurs to me that I need to actually plan out all twelve of Forteuch's knives for my own reference, but I really only have ideas for four so far. This could take some thinking.
Bab El, sent you a PM reply.
If you guys want, I could try playing another servant too if noone else comes.
(Or another master. That's fine too)

o Endurance: C
o Agility: A
o Magical Energy: D
o Luck: C
o Noble Phantasm (Rank): A+
- Class Abilities:
- Magic Resistance: B [Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for him to be affected.]
- Skills: Particular powers that depend on the Heroic Spirit's character.
- Bravery: A [Almost impossible to faze through mental interference such as pressure, confusion and fascination]
- Vitrification C [A serene state of mind. A mental protection that nullifies mental interference.]
- Noble Phantasms: Weapons and powers unique to the Heroic Spirit alone.
- Holy Lance [The lance that supposedly pierced Jesus's side as he hung on the cross. Can turn blood into water. Thus, if it manages to get through even a single limb, the whole bloodstream is diluted and half of the blood turns into pure water. This greatly reduces the ernergy level within the target. Note that if the lance only grazes the target and results in a scratch or something (even if a small amount of blood comes into contact), it is inneffective. The higher the Divinity of the target, the greater the percentage of blood turned into water is. (for Divinity A+, it would be 100%, practically killing the target. C would be 75%. E would be 50%, the same as a regular person). In straight up power battles, it match Saber's Excalibur, (not Ea though).]

I think we've found the Nasuverse version of the Anti Tank.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! If I might make a suggestion concerning Longinus, reduce his magical Energy Rank (to D) and increase the Noble Phantasm rank (to A+, A++ or EX).
I'm not sure how a Roman Legionary who was only famous for stabbing Jesus would have such magical energy when other legendary figures in Fate Stay Night with magic directly related to them in their myth have much less, but his spear has God only knows how many legends about it should be stronger than what most legendary heroes have.
Legends about the spear's power range from being able to insta-kill divine beings, super-healing, immortality, victory (even more so than Excalibur's "Sword of Promised Victory" thing) and I don't know what else.
And maybe change it's range. Being a spear, it would have minimum range.
I was kinda giving his stats a slight boost as he didn't have many skills. I guess I underestimated his noble phantasm. Made changes, thanks for the input.
You know what? I am just gonna use the stats of the previous (and unfinished ) Grail War RPG for my Assassin, after all I just need to plan...*does the gendo pose*

thanks? ex-master?*nervous laugh*
Alright, we officially have a Lancer, Saint Longinus is approved.
Thanks for that neobowman and for posting Assassin's character sheet.
I'll post the RP thread either tomorrow or when Bab-El and Dr Rockopolis answer my PMs.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.
Yeah, Assassin does seem to be most similar to my character, though there are two worries; it does seem to push me down the path to "Bad End", and it might end up "We have the exact same powersets, but the Servant does it better.".
