Contra 4 is the shit.
It's funny . . . I'd heard of many of those games, but I've never heard Way Forward mentioned as a company. I only previously knew their name because it was in the opening of a game I played over and over. Why so little publicity?
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulThey're a small little company is probably why. They also haven't produced any hugenormous hits yet; just small little things that are either liscenced, or tend to be critically well-reviewed but sell only so-so.

And personally, Way Forward gets bonus cool points from me for being named after a company in a Douglas Adams novel.

And I was expecting a reference to Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. Ah, well, I'm sure the games are good, carry on.

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.
I think these guys are quickly becoming one of my favorite developers, given their ludicrous tendency to Do It For The Art.
Shantae kicks ass, and from the reviews thus far, its sequel even more so. A Boy And His Blob cuddled my heart with its beautiful hand-drawn graphics before totally savaging it with those end credits and I loved every minute of it. Lit is almost impossibly cool and wonderfully atmospheric. And Contra 4 speaks for itself.
Plus, they're one of those companies that gets signed to do a lot of lisenced stuff, and it's actully not bad. Duck Amuck is a game that definitely Needs More Love, and their recent Batman The Brave And The Bold game has gotten a lot of good reviews, especially for using the same awesome hand-drawn look A Boy And His Blob did. And maybe I'm the only one who remembers, but they did a great little puzzler in the GBC days based on Wendy The Witch, and it was awesome.
So yeah. Way Forward, I love you guys. Yes, in spite of Ping Pals.
