Holistic Analysis. This comic reminds me of the Ron White "We're all gay" bit.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Reading it again, it kind of reminds me of A Softer World. Also, the look on Gabe's face is glorious.
Productivity is for people without internet connections. -Count DorkuIt's actually kinda creepy when paired with Gabe's face.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelSo...are the people drawn supposed to look all...phallicy?
Read my stories!Personally, I liked them in the order the appeared. ( Sand, New Kid, and Queen I mean)
This is why I love penny arcade. They're willing to expirament with their art.

Just stuff the potato into the python, and you're done!
Additional Boys: "Lord, do you want to say grace? No, I suppose that'd be weird."
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialThat is just fucked up in so many ways.
Underneath the bridge The tarp has sprung a leak And the animals I've trapped have all become my petsI'm so glad I'm not Gabe's kid. It's no wonder the kid was scared!
We're going to spread this shit like Nutella.That's...exactly what my dad did. Exactly.
More than once, actually, 'cause I'm a slow learner.
He didn't LIE; the tooth certainly didn't hoot. It hurt, sure, but...

Hey, "Eat Pizza" sounds like a great place to lie aroun. I would go to a restaurant called Eat Pizza.
I have a message from another time...Why does that comic PERFECTLY sum up my DM experience? At least now I suckered one of my players into D Ming....time to reap some sweet revenge.
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans. For anyone interested in statics, guess how many time you would have to role three evenly weighted dice with six sequentially numbered sides just to have a 50% or greater chance of all three being ones. Answer: 150

Well, I said "50% or more" because that number has a chance slightly higher than 50% while one less roll is slightly lower. There is no real number of die rolls that have exactly a 50% chance of getting all ones.

The way I read it, he didn't say he was always rolling all ones though, he said every roll had a 1 in it. If so, 3d6 will produce one or more 1s 42% of the time.
Well, isn't three ones as likely as three sixes, or a one, two, and a three, or any other combination of three six sided die rolls?
I have a message from another time...Of course, just six randomly chosen rolls only have about a .6% chance of all having ones in them.
Though I don't think he meant that, or Tycho wouldn't be saying "once" and "twice", which I figured meant he got a really bad roll twice in one sitting.
If the same numbers in different "order" are considered different "combinations", yes.
If order doesn't matter, every combination of three different numbers has a 6/216 chance of happening, every combination of a pair and a second number has a 3/216 chance of happening, and every triple roll has a 1/216 chance of happening.
Either way, I don't see what you're getting at though.

Three ones, as a permutation, is just as likely as any other permutation. Your chances of rolling a one, and a one, and a one, are the same as your chances of rolling a three, then a four, then a five. However, there are more combinations that involve a three, a four, and a five than there are combinations that involve three ones. In other words, the only way to roll three ones is (1, 1, 1), which is a 1/216 chance, whereas you can roll a three, a four, and a five by rolling any of (3, 4, 5), (3, 5, 4), (4, 3, 5), (4, 5, 3), (5, 3, 4), and (5, 4, 3), making it a 6/216 chance, or 1/36.
He's obviously not playing GURPS.

I think it's somewhat telling that the difference between the best and worst of the three comics in that poll was 4.2%, and the difference between second and third was just .3%. There just isn't one of those that people didn't want to see.
