I'm okay with this image.
Fight smart, not fair.Hrrm, from American History X (sans Goomba, obviously)
Ignoring the subject matter, the image quality is terrible. Everything various extremely close shades of grey. We can do better than this.
A quick search brings this image◊. It's fanart, but it's on a blog, so if we wanted to use it we could conceivably ask permission.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Let's pretend the image is not gruesome, hateful, and unfunny.
It's wrong! Technically it depicts "jumping on an enemy", but, the visual pun is reminiscent of a Curb-Stomp Battle, which is extremely lopsided, a different thing.
Also, it is unnecessary mood whiplash to have a lighthearted video game trope represented by an image that is... not lighthearted.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. Those are better points.
Fight smart, not fair.I don,t see how having a Neo-Nazi(or any other hate or terrorist group for that matter, be it the KKK, Middle-Eastern terrorist,IRA member, ANYTHING like that) to represent any trope not directly related to them can be considered acceptable. The fact that it comes from a movie is not an excuse.
There is also the fact that swastika are probably NSFG unless used in a historical context, which it is not.
We have to change that. I can't believe we can't find one picture from any of the Mario games that exemplify this one.
EDIT — I should probably add that American History X was based on Real Life events. Thus, the scene parodied here actually happened. I fail to see see how this is anything less then tasteless

I thought the "Nazi murder" thing was a good point to begin with. I am not some lily-livered pansy who is offended by the slightest breach of over-sensitivity. But that scene made me physically ill. It is intended to have that effect. When I realized what that image is, I heard a human whimper through teeth grinding on concrete. *shudder*
The image does have other strikes against it, including the Holy Grail: not descriptive of the trope.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. What about this?◊
Shows one foot indicating a stomp. One of the legitimate concerns is that it might get confused for a stomp maneuver rather than a two footed jump.
Fight smart, not fair. A Goomba Stomp is specifically a two-footed jump. It is yet another strike (to go with offensive, poor quality, irrelevant, misleading...) that the image depicts a one-footed stomp. Oh, wait, I thought Deboss meant the original, which is possibly untrue.
The alternate image suggestions on this thread are great, although: while a better image could certainly be found, that is irrelevant to the question of whether the current one should be deleted. But I didn't want to do that unilaterally.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. But it's a an image of a neo-nazi hate crime that happened in Real Life! How can you be ok with that?
How about this one◊?
edit:
... the image in the link directly above her post fits the description she put forward.
Methinks she was not talking about what you are talking about.

I have a message from another time...^ The problem with that shot is it's a freeze frame image. No sense of motion whatsoever. Nothing to indicate that Yoshi is stomping Wario.
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.If we gotta change it. Go with Deboss' Known Unknown fanart pic.

The fanart one is quite good. The neo-nazi one has got to go. I've taken it down.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Throwing in the second panel of this Brawl In The Family comic for consideration.
Otherwise, I like Known Unknown's pic out of all the suggestions so far. Shows the trope in action best.

That's perfect. A bit of editing and:
I have a message from another time...
We have a winnah!
That pic is great.
Reaction Image RepositoryBrawl in the family.
Fight smart, not fair. How about the final frame of ending 3?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
I think Mario stomping just one Goomba is enough, although that image is good too.
Either one is perfectly fine
Reaction Image RepositoryI like the first one a tiny bit better because the upcoming goomba seems to react like Oh, Crap!.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!
That is a picture of a guy with a Nazi swastika tattooed on his chest about to commit racism-fueled murder. With a Goomba pasted in as the victim. (It is perhaps a visual pun on "curb stomp".)
