So yeah, I figured we should decide on the actual setting for the school itself. Anybody got ideas for names and mascots?

I assume the school is in America. I don't really know what American high schools are called.

A serval would make an awesome mascot.

...Just saying.

Also high schools have mascots?

Yep, although no one takes them seriously anyway. Although it's fun having some poor fool dress up as the mascot for sporting events. >:3

Diggin' the Serval idea, although I like the idea of a really stupid mascot, like the Hyrax.

Seconding the Hyrax idea. I snorted out loud when I looked it up on Wikipedia.

Also in regards to American high school naming practices, there's really no limitations. Although it's fairly common for them to be named after:

  • The Neighborhood/Disctrict/County they are located in
  • Some famous guy like Martin Luther King Jr. There's like 1000+ schools named after that guy
  • Someone who donated a damn lot of money to them

Is the school in a big city or a small town? I think a city setting would be better, so the apocalypse could be on a big scale and show how strict the school is.

Do you want it in the middle of a big city, or like in the urban sprawl? Like in the suburbs on the outskirts of the metropolitan area?

Suburbs seems like a nice idea, but you decide. You're head of the RP after all.

I still want everyone else to have some input, though. I kind of want to get a consensus, though, which means we need more people to speak up/join.

I would like to vote suburban then, as that is the only school I am familiar with.

And I vote for school name, John F. Kennedy High.

I myself am leaning towards something suburban. Anybody else?

Suburban works. As for the name, why not make it something generic like "Robert L. Hummerstork High" or something. Okay, not that one specifically, but something along those lines.

Ulysses S. Grant High! Please! Please!

Because he was a drunken mess who won a war against a more competent general and became president? Or because of his distinguishable name?

His name is pretty awesome.

How about Marquis De Sade High? He's never had a school named after him! :V

Both. Wait, no, he was not a drunken mess! >:(

He showed up to Robert E. Lee's surrender at Appomattox completely sloshed. A witness commented that it was confusing to see who was actually surrendering.

He showed up in a filthy and ragged uniform because he'd spent all his time at the front and went straight to Appomattox Court House when he heard the Lee was accepting his surrender proposal. He wasn't drunk, just dirty.

...So, is this argument going to be a part of the RP? tongue

Depends on what we name the school. [lol]

How about Bruce Campbell High?
