Resurrecting this thread to complain about the weather in Seattle. At the time, yesterday was the hottest day in recorded history at 104 F. I say, "at the time" because today was even hotter. And, of course, I, like most of Seattle, don't have a home AC. So I'm sitting here in the dark, wearing deliberately soaked clothes and with an ice pack around my neck, desperately trying to stay cool.

I feel so bad for everyone out there...I have several co-workers (so to speak) in one of our labs near Seattle and I can't imagine how it must be. Those temperatures are even out of our league here in Arkansas at the worst of summer, and if we had that kind of heat on top of the usual humidity, people would likely be dying in droves.

Well we just survived the biggest heat wave in history and now it's just a little hot and miserable. Now I just need enough cardboard and drop cloth to make an AC vent in my window. The window brackets don't work on the windows in my apartment.
