Quick twitter update: Bad news is his transmission is shot.
Good news is the car is still under warranty, so all he has to pay for was the guy telling him "your transmission's shot".
$190 > $6K.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117My gut feeling is that it's going to be some sort of comedy spot, maybe a sex plotline, that could sink Gris's career before it starts due to everyone associating the storyline with their persona. Of course, this strip being what it is, I could readily see this being solved by a very non-kayfabe mauling in-ring.
Could be. Could just be a "we need one of our main eventers to beat seven shades of shit out of someone, how's your selling?" thing.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117No shows are semi common in wrestling, this guys is probably just all "THANK GOD, someone I booked actually came to the show!"
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117I do like Davan's line. It shows how fond he has become of Gris.
Sometimes I hate being right. It sounds like it's a sex storyline.
Not trying to be an asshole here, just making an observation.
Gris really doesn't have the type of body most wrestling fans would enjoy leering at.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Indeed they are not exactly curvy. Which does raise the possibility that this is going to use one of those wrestling stereotypes of non-binary and trans people being inherently perverted, c.f. Goldust.
With the description of varying ideas of nudity, I could also see the possibility of a suit or prosthetic to simulate nudity. Latex gag boobs, for example.
Why do I feel like I know that silhouette?
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117So, not necessarily any need to have actual nudity for the match, but that definitely does not look like the same body type as Gris. Not to mention that I think this would mean they would have to adopt a much more feminine persona. Part of me is still half expecting falsies to be involved somewhere in here.
The other question, for me, is whether this means that they would get ongoing work from this, it's a one shot, or this is the kind of thing where multiple people might be wearing the mask. I'm blanking on a few of the famous incidents, but there have been many cases in wrestling history where a single villain has been played by multiple people under the mask, often because they don't have a firm idea of who it actually is.
Black Scorpion and Suicide are two of the major examples, for what that's worth. Suicide being a very funny case where the shenanigans got really complex, with Christopher Daniels playing the character to win the X-Division title only for Suicide to then defend against Daniels when Frankie Kazarian began playing the character.
An overachiever at 19. I just hope that Gris has enough time to actually, you know, work with the other wrestler in advance to figure out spots and make sure they're using the same cues. Most of them are fairly standard, but, especially when you're new, it's good to know exactly what to expect.
At the very least, find out how the other guy's finisher works. No one wants Gris ending up like that guy who didn't know how Triple H's Pedigree went and got his neck broke.
I'm Charlie Owens, good night and good luck. PSNID: CEOIII 1117Or the Styles Clash... which has the opposite bump than for almost any other wrestling move in that you don't want to tuck your chin. Stevie Richards recently did a video about how he messed that up, including analysis of exactly how AJ Styles modified the move in the midst of doing it when he realizes what was happening to reduce the hurt while still making it look decent.
Lastly, you just want to get some of that adrenaline out... it's bad times when your moonsault turns into a reverse 540...
No comic link available yet, but horny research◊.
Again, no comic link, but being supportive◊.
Is it wrong that I want to see panel 3?
