Unfortunately reporting some tragic news. Legendary Vocaloid producer wowaka just passed away tonight at 31. He was way too young.
I'm choosing to remember him by playing all his songs on repeat the rest of this week.
In what may be a potentially decade defining moment, Hatsune Miku is gearing up for her most mainstream appearance yet as one of the acts at this year's Coachella festival. As a fourth tier act, but it's still pretty impressive.
Isn't that a Native American themed music festival?
Here are some songs that I've found recently that I enjoy: Ready Steady by GigaP, Addiction by DECO*27, and Airhead by Picon.
Who are your favorite producers? I've yet to hear a DECO*27 song that I actively hate/dislike, Police Piccadilly has a knack for making catchy hooks as does rerulili. While I'm not as familiar with R Sound Design as I am with the previous three, most of their songs have a laid-back chill sound to them.

~ ♪ I know I’m playing with your heart / And I could treat you better but I’m not that smart ♪ ~I also like DECO, since his style dovetails well with some of the music I enjoyed before I got into Vocaloid. I'd probably rank Hachiouji P, 40mP, and Jin as some of my favorites.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.My all time favorite producer was wowaka, besides him I mostly enjoy stuff by HACHI, Mitchie M, and Yuyoyuppe.
So I recently found out that Crypton had moved their stable of voicebanks away from the Vocaloid engine into a new "Newtype" engine. I want to ask if any reasons are given as it now kinda leads into soemthing adjacent to I Am Not Shazam going forward.
If I recall, it was because they wanted to take their voice synths to new heights when they were being bogged down by Yamaha's software limitations and regulations. Vocaloid 5 was received very poorly among the voice synth community upon release, so that only further justifies this move.
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."I see, mayhaps we should considering renaming the thread just in case?
BTW what are your opinions on the producer DIVELA's discography?
Given that Vocaloid is the most known and widely used term despite the changes, I don't think a rename would do much other than bury an already low activity thread.
Divela's Meteor was the first song I heard from them, which seems a little odd in retrospect since I feel like their style is generally defined by a heavier rock sound. I like Divela on the whole, and I'd probably say my favorite song of theirs is Dawn Alone With You, which is also one of their softer songs.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut. Here's something that I've been wondering for a while, but when a Vocaloid voicebank releases a new version, what does it do, actually? They don't necessarily sound better than the older ones.

Snow Miku 2022, "Colorful Marine Snow" is now out.
The art in the video is really cute, and the maritime theme makes it unique. According to some of the comments, certain elements (the specific wildlife Miku befriends, the food she makes) are specifically from Hokkaido, which is nice.
Musically speaking, I'm kind of mixed. It's more uptempo than "Fondant Step" or "Cozy Planet", and I'm generally for uptempo rock songs, but this one just doesn't interest me that much. I usually think that I prefer songs where Miku's voice doesn't go too high, but re-listening to "Cozy Planet" I think that one had higher vocals yet I like it better.
Maybe it's not entirely fair to compare the Snow Miku songs to each other.
Also, I re-listened to "Fondant Step". It's a good song I keep forgetting about.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut. Now I'm wo0ndering if there will be card sleeves with those designs (I have taken to collecting some of them for my YGO extra decks).
Also, I find the sailor theme an odd choice since the whole winter thing would bring to mind snow and ice, but then again its isn't like the Ocean or even some lakes are frozen in winter anyway (even if climate change didn't heat the planet up)
As a promotion for the upcoming Magic: The Gathering set, Kamigawa Neon Dynasty, they've put out this video, featuring the son "Connected" by Mwk, showcasing the art and setting of modern Kamigawa.
And we can now say for certain that Miku is a planeswalker.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Deco*27 Just released Love Words IV. It's a good song, but it's also odd to hear one of his lighter songs using snippets from his less light songs.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Next Nest (Magical Mirai 10th edit)
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Snow Miku 2023 song just dropped: SnowMix
Yamaha is releasing a VOCALOID6 voicebank sampled from the vocals of none other than Porter Robinson himself. This feels like a very full-circle moment.
If I die, tell Hex Haywire I loved him.I'm sure all of the people in this thread heard of this one:
Man, the last time I got exposed to Vocaloid song through memes like this was probably Goodbye Declaration.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. The first of eighteen Pokemon-themed songs made for Project Voltage just dropped: Volt Tackle by Deco*27.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.just listened to it, it absolutely pops off!
i can't believe nor even fathom that he visited his friend! the audacity!Mitchie M's Project Voltage song, one trying to capture the feeling of growth and adventure in Pokemon. I'm not always impressed by Mitchie as a composer, but I have grown to appreciate his ability to give Miku's voice an interesting sound.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.Really well-tuned and funny use of Teto English.
This is a wonderful use of one the newest Vocaloids, and wholesome! The title is along the lines of Akari has Arrived!
