Check out Bliss Stage for a system, it was heavily based off evangelion.

I'm game. Mind Screw ahoy!
Now I'm freedom unbound, cut the laces of life...I can only post twice or three times a day the ways things are going, but I am game.
I've never really properly role-played before; would that be a hindrance? I'd really like to give this a shot.
Man, I wonder if anything we do could keep that American EVA unit from blowing up. Or did that only happen in the manga? Sorry, I guess I should mention I've only read the manga up to about volume six and seen the movies. ^_^; Maybe I'm not the best choice.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Welp, already taking liberties with the canon, so I figure we'll just have Unit 04 survive so there's room for more players who want to be pilots.
According to rebuild continuity, there's six human-piloted Evas so far (the rest presumably being the upcoming mass-production models piloted by dummy kaworus), so that's six pilots with six dead mothers.
And hey, I haven't really roleplayed either, so this is sort of a learning experience for me too.
Question: Is it possible to use folders in forum post formatting? And tables? I can't seem to get it working.

You know what might be interesting? Someone who never knew their mother until they climbed into the cockpit. I mean, never knew her at all; if an Eva would still function under those conditions, by way of mum's soul recognizing her darling child whom she sent away as an infant to keep him/her from mourning her death, and fighting to protect him/her, you could potentially have at least one pilot who isn't completely fucked in the head.
Question is, would that constitute an Eva-Sue?
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Hmmm. If played right it's not a Sue at all. Sues are made, not born.
Now I'm freedom unbound, cut the laces of life...^^Actually I considered writing an oblivious and happy go lucky character who had two loving [and living] parents. He later finds out he was adopted and his mother died some time later. Angst ensues.
I wasn't sure if it'd be too much of a contrast, if I could pull it off without turning it into Wangst or AWA? and it did have a certain Sueish quality to it that I wasn't confident that I could over come unless I really got into the character and found just the right niche in the group.

You could definitely do it. I mean, I've seen your writing talent.
Now I'm freedom unbound, cut the laces of life...Thanks, I would compliment you on yours, but I don't want to derail this thing too much [Though I am impressed with how you developed Piper's neurosis from what I gather was an unexpected trait]. For lack of other ideas I decided to go for it and just play it in to Refuge in Audacity but not quite to the point where I can't play it more seriously if need be.

Pick an eva unit if you want to be a pilot. Heck, it doesn't even have to have the design from canon, you can repaint it all you want.
I am pretty apathetic on it. 02 or 03 are fine provided they don't delay my entrance into the story, in which case I'd take 01.
Please keep in mind that I've only got a basic understanding of the canon/story of NGE, but I'd still like to learn/play. If I get anything wrong it would be very helpful if you corrected me. Here we go...
Name: Minoru, Allen
Sex: Male
Age: 14
Nationality: Scottish/Japanese
Physical Description: Tall, fair-skinned. His muscles are slightly toned, but not to any significant degree. He has short but wild dark brown hair and hazel eyes.
Backstory: Allen was born in Tokyo-3 to a Scottish father and Japanese mother. Mostly excels in non-physical subjects (notably Physics) but isn't too awful at physical sports. Minoru harbours an almost unhealthy obsession with military technology. He was completely traumatised when he saw his older sister (who he was very close to) get run over by a car just after she had waved him goodbye as she went off to her part-time job. Needless to say, he tries to avoid crossing roads whenever possible, and he feels extremely uncomfortable walking in front of cars. Also keen on aviation, and has devoted a lot of time to learning about their systems. He knows enough to fly a basic aircraft, but nothing more complex. Hates Being Touched due to some awkward incidents.
Family: His father, who seems to waver between being harsh and distant to extremely loving. They share a few hobbies (such as fishing) but otherwise leave each other alone, leaving an almost yawning gulf between them at times.
Residence: He lives in the designated pilot quarters at NERV, though when he's able he tries to visit his father.
Job: Pilot of Unit 04.
Life Skills: Carpentry, fishing, knowledge of how to fly aircraft (though he has only learnt this through simulations)
Combat Skills: N/A, except the ability to come up with tactics (with varying degrees of success).
Friends: Itoshiki Luke when he's not being annoying.
Enemies: Itoshiki Luke when he's being annoying.
I can only hope I didn't screw things up too badly...

Locking you up on radar since '09EDIT: Oh shit I completely forgot about an 'age' collumn for character creation. I hope you guys don't mind editing your submitted characters to include age. Check the character creation for guidelines on selecting age.
I'm thinking of reintroducing Rei from the canon as Unit 00's pilot, that way Gendo has a way to initiate Third Impact. Or someone comes up with an equivalent character as their player character.
Or, not at all, and we'll come up with some other way or have Gendo able to initiate 3I on his own.
Or perhaps someone wants to be a new manipulative bastard NERV commander and completely remove Gendo entirely?
Thoughts?

Cheers. Added his age and got rid of some tense trouble (he's still in high school). Quickly realised that I had more or less made Scottish/Japanese!Shinji to some extent.
As for keeping Rei/Gendo, it may or may not be necessary depending on how many players we can rope in. Either way it will be awesome to have a magnificent bastard onboard!
Locking you up on radar since '09I agree with the above; if people show up willing to fill the creepy clone/government conspirator route let them, if not, keep in canon where you can. I had assumed you'd be keeping plot critical characters in and that playing anything but a kid or Kaji expy [Which is to say friendly to the pilots and trying to figure out what the hell is going on] would be pushing into your turf, so it's good that there's a help wanted sign up now.

This is so temping, it's a great idea. Problem is I might not have time, especially if this goes as fast as the MMFRPG does (right, Flanker66?)
I'll tentatively sign up as the pilot of Unit-03. A character sheet will come tomorrow.
Heh, the MMFRPG is just absolute hell to go through if you miss too much.
As for this, I doubt it'll go as fast. Maybe half its' speed at best.
Looking forward to your character sheet, though.
Locking you up on radar since '09I wonder if Malignancy knows about this. It seems right up his alley.
Hah! Got a good name on the first hit of that name generator - Chouko Hiroko (female).

Hey, that's a Sublime Rhyme!
As for The Malignancy... I think that maybe we should tell him. Goodness knows this thing doesn't have enough players signed up yet!
Locking you up on radar since '09Hey all, here's a rough idea of what I'm thinking, and sorry for the wall of text. It's a bad habit of mine.
- Name: Hikarinimichitasora Tenshi
- Gender: Male
- Age: 14
- Nationality: American
- Physical Description: about 5'6, 140 lbs, unkempt black hair, reverse boat light eyes
- Backstory: Tenshi was born an only child to 2nd generation Japanese Amercan parents, and was raised in a small suburban home. Even as a child, he was remarkably bright, learning how to read English very well by the time he was four, and doing algebra as well. As Tenshi grew older, he seemed incapable of making any friends, always being alone with his books. At his parents urgings, he attempted to integrate into normal society, but he found he was unable. People were just so... stupid! However, this attempted foray into normality lead to problems, as he now was being approached regularly instead of being left to himself as he liked. He finally conceded, putting on a fake smile and went through the motions of being a social person. Behind this mask, a cold rage grew. When Tenshi was nine, his mother died of a stroke, sending his father into a deep depression, leaving Tenshi to do the housework. For the next six months, Tenshi grew to resent his father, for being unable to accept that death happens and move along. In the little spare time he had, Tenshi discovered that he fit the criteria for both psychopathy and sociopathy, as well as bipolar disorder, but this did not perturb him. While Tenshi was at school, he discovered that he had considerable musical talent, and avidly learned how to play the piano, staying far later than he normally did. On the one year anniversary of his mother's death, when Tenshi was 10, he came home late in the evening after school, and he saw his father commit suicide via gunshot to the head. When the paramedics came, they sent Tenshi in for a psychological evaluation. Tenshi remained composed enough to feign his way through the test, coming out 'normal'. They sent Tenshi to live with his aunt in Japan, his closest living relative. There, he assumed another facade, a happy, social normal child. He reveled in the chance to progress his studies, quickly learning advanced chemistry, physics and mechanical engineering. However, he suddenly got bored with learning and then turned to fantasy. He became enamored with the idea of magic, of exerting your will on the surrounding world to create physical changes. During this time, he decided to learn a martial art, in the hopes that it would help focus his mind. He ended up learning Nihon Goshin Aikido, and in addition to learning martial arts, he also made a discovery about how he learned. If he could watch someone do something, he could imitate it well. However, his goal to attain mental focus from martial arts was not a success, as he ended up letting his mind wander while his body went through the motions. After attaining technical mastery of Aikido, he left and returned to his own little world, trying to use magic with no expectation of success but always that little hope. He currently is attending school and is in the eva-pilot class (sorry, I couldn't find the specific one).
- Family: Mostly deceased, has one aunt who he never saw very much even when they were living together
- Residence: NERV headquarters, pilot area
- Job: Pilot of Unit 06
- Life Skills: Cooking, cleaning, musical ability, good with his hands, superb liar, excellent at manipulating people to his own ends
- Combat Skills: 1st degree black belt in Nihon Goshin Aikido, textbook knowledge of others
- Friends: No one
- Enemies: Anyone that pisses him off/has pissed him off. He holds grudges, though he may not show it.
Like I said, this is just a rough idea. Questions/comments/criticisms are welcome, and encouraged.
So as I sing now, I call forth Unlimited Leek Works!Interesting... I've got a question.
If I'm thinking correctly, he's something of a misanthrope. If so, then he'll probably wreck Tokyo-3 at the first opportunity. Is there any reason why he wouldn't/may hold back?
Locking you up on radar since '09If there isn't, then he sounds like an Evil!Kaoru with implanted Seele memories aiming to bring about 3rd impact.

^That would be fascinating. So far we've got:
Evil!Kaoru
Scottish/Japanese!Shinji

Evangelion RP: Signups | Discussion | Main
Basically, the entire of NERV except for Gendo and Fuyutsuki from the canon are scrapped, with players assuming the roles of new pilots and tech/tactical division commanders. For example, the tactical division commander will get to decide on the plan of attack for each Angel, so they get the creative freedom to plan things different from Misato's decisions in the canon and see what happens. Tech division gets to suggest ideas to the commander for upgrades to the Evangelions and hand out upgrade forms to the pilots for them to choose what kind of weapons and upgrades they want. So if they want to introduce chainswords and drills, then goddamn, their drills will pierce the heavens and tabletop games will make cowardly boys into magnificent bastards. Everyone gets to flesh out their characters too, of course.
