Take a look at the twitter account.
I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.The hell? I leave for a week and now I'm expected to follow important wiki updates on Twitter?
OK, initial shock notwithstanding the answer to that question appears to be "initiative". Follow-up question- is the software coded to use the Twitter rules or the YKTTW rules? Twitter says the rule only applies to proposals that have been up for less than 72 hours. YKTTW says that the rule also applies to anything that's been replied to in that span.
The Twitter iteration sounds a great deal more reasonable, seeing as how it's YKTTW culture to bump old proposals before launching them. Not to mention the fact that Just Launch It Already becomes a meaningless expression if simply by posting that predefined message the clock on when the proposal can be launched is reset.
I should note that this change doesn't really effect me at all because I launch proposals based off of my watchlist, which at any given time has about twelve proposals on it, the oldest of which has almost certainly not been replied to in three days. Thing is, this could really muck up other YKTTW tropers who aren't at all used to these kinds of hard-coded rules.
See you in the discussion pages.Eddie said that replying to or editing YKTTW's no longer changes the creation date, so it won't mess with the new system.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"All right, new request: please change the white font note so that it more accurately reflects the situation. Actually, how about ditching the special font altogether and just expanding the opening-
"You have a trope that you have seen a million times. It just needs a snappy name. Discuss it here! This is also a good place to call for examples. After a seventy-two hour grace period a "launch" button will appear that will allow you to formally submit a trope to the wiki proper or discard a proposal that didn't really work out. If you really want to make a new trope page right now feel free to investigate some of the older items."

I was just curious- what's the rationale behind the disappearance of the launch button in YKTTW for proposals created or replied to in the last three days? Is this a technical snafu or some sort of initiative to get people to deal with older proposals?
