Hey! This is my first attempt at a liveblog. I’ve wanted to attempt one for a while now, and I figured that a free MMORPG would be an easy place to start. (does anyone liveblog those? I don't know, but I figure I'll give it a try) I’ve played lots of MMORP Gs, but not this one. It’s just one I’ve randomly picked, and I think it looks decent. At the very least, it probably won't suck. I don’t really know much about it - it appears to be another cutesy dime-a-dozen Korean game.

So for fun, I’m going to keep track of my playing experience up to a certain point. Since online games don’t really end, and I’m hardly aiming to reach max level, I’m going to blog this up to a cutoff point. Let’s say that’s level 20 or 30. If I really can’t stand to go that long, then I’ll stop earlier and explain why I didn’t like it.

Right now, I’m in the process of downloading the game. As of now, it has 37 minutes left to go. Further updates will be given once I actually start.

This is the first MMORPG I've ever played, and I played the crap out of it in 7th Grade.

It holds a special place in my heart, though I don't play it anymore. Fun times.

Really? I didn't know it had been around that long...

Anyway, on with the liveblog.

Alright then, it’s done downloading. Now I’m just waiting for it to patch. Or check files, or whatever it’s doing.

While it’s loading, I notice a (presumably old) announcement about an event for Talk like a Pirate Day. Um…wow. This must be the only game I’ve ever seen that did something for that.

Ok, it’s loading much faster now. I think it’s finishing up. Done. Here we go!

OK, there’s a warning telling people with epilepsy not to play. Or something. After that, cool music starts playing, and I get a scene with lots of trees and water. That goes on way too long until I realize I’m supposed to click. And here’s the login screen.

I decide to create a character on the Leonis server. There are two servers, each with a single channel. Wow, that’s pretty sad. There isn’t much character customization, but I end up with a girl whose hair reminds me of Aqua from Kingdom Hearts. I will name her BlueSpark. Oh wait, that’s taken. How bout..umm…SilverRain? No, that’s taken too. Aquillia? That works. I choose to play as her, and she runs out of the treehouse and the game begins.

I start out at an area called the Adventurer’s Plains. Wow, sooooo original. Anyway, it doesn’t look like plains – there’s a lot of water. The music is actually cool, but it gets irritating after a while.

I start walking, but quickly fall off a bridge and get stuck underneath. Glitching already? Not a good sign. So I go back to the character creation screen and start again. Now I’m standing in shallow water.

I check my items. I’m wearing a noob outfit and shoes, with a wooden sword. I also have a polka-dot bow in my inventory. I try it on. It’s hideous, so I unequip it.

I’m told to go kill a “Mini jellybean.” I go out and find them. Not only are they actual jellybeans, but they talk. Ughhh….I’m starting to get a bad feeling about this game. So I kill one, and it drops items. Then I’m told to go talk to some fairy that was standing right next to the place I started.

I go talk to the fairy. Turns out that player characters are “visitors.” They were put on this world by some goddess or something. They don’t need to eat or sleep, and they can’t be killed. Being a longtime Mabinogi player, this concept sounds all too familiar.

I go buy some potions with what little money I have. I’m not sure what to do next, so I go kill more jellybeans until I level up. I’m planning to make Aquillia a Muse, which is the beginning mage class. So I put the points into stats that will probably benefit that.

Right now, I’m sick of this, so this is all I’ll do for now. Liveblogging is a lot more time-consuming than I thought, and I’m not really getting good first impressionsh. That’s not to say that I’m not going to keep going with this, but for now I’m bored.

That’s all for now. Maybe next time, I should look into something a little more before I jump into liveblogging it…x_x

I should mention that my little 7th Grade mind had a lot more patience for this kind of Korean-y MMO.

Y'know what? Forget this thread. I can't do this. I don't like this game. I'd delete this thread if I could

I'd still like to do a liveblog sometime, but next time I'll try out whatever it is first.
