I'm crossposting this to the most active Comics threads, so apologies if you see it more than once!

So, I was wondering, do you guys think that the Mobius 30 years later story lines could have been the true finales to the Archie Sonic series since they had Sonic and Sally married and ruling the kingdom and having kids? Although, I can understand that there are a lot of conflicting things going on with this series such as Tails and Mina suddenly ending up together and Shadow becoming a homicidal maniac in the future that really contradicts everything going on in the Archie comics.

I felt that Mina and Tails hooking up came out of nowhere. I mean, isn't there an age difference between them?

There is, but that's hardly an obstacle in fiction.

It's a shame that we will never see these stories come to light due to the cancellation of the comic.

So, what did you guys think about the Iron Dominion arc? Did you think that it was a bit too long and how do you think the Iron Queen and Snively were portrayed in this story?

I think one problem is that Iron Queen's powers are extremely OP and everyone had to keep ignoring the same way Wolverine keeps hurling himself at Magneto. It really shouldn't be plot-twist that Nicole can be controlled. Every mechanical character should get a ring for protection and that's it.

I do wonder if Nicole ever had a failsafe plan to protect herself in case she got taken control of?

Sally making a box around her seemed to work. If anything I think she had faith in her friends to restore her.

Anyone else find it funny to think Satam/Archie used a warrior princess and a femme fatale thief before the Sonic games actually used those archetypes?

Pretty much, it seemed like kind of Idiot Plot level that no one figured the Iron Queen could control NICOLE until it was too late (even the Iron Queen herself). I actually kinda sided with Mina in what a crappy job the Freedom Fighters done in this one.

Sally really felt all over the place in this arc, what with her switching to Khan's love interest in a not-too-believable way, her idiocy and complacency around the Iron Queen despite being the most cautious Freedom Fighter, and her isolated blowing a gasket at Fiona. Given her role in this arc is being a soother for Khan, I feel all this might have worked if done ironically, if they lampshaded it's harder to practice than it is to preach, but it never really goes that way.

In fact I don't think it ever went that way with Sally despite how often she defied her own teachings or acted outright Sonic-like. I feel like that total lack of self awareness might have played into her feeling too unsympathetic for some fans. She's almost like a heroic version of Dr Starline sometimes (ironic given it's the same writer).

Sally has been written all over the place when it came to the Archie Comics. One minute, she's the most levelheaded of the Freedom Fighters and then the next minute, she's one of the most reckless of the Freedom Fighters, besides Sonic.

Really I think that could have worked if they'd actually played off of that, again like Dr Starline where he's called out for essentially acting just like the person he's the biggest critic towards. But it never really felt intentional with Sally. I don't think they really saw Sally as a character with an ego or hypocritical aspects, or at least never LIKED her having those traits, since they seemed to come inherently with her either way. Heck I think the only reason they started making her more fallible in the first place is to shut up the whole "Mary Sue" accusations.

I am a STC (Sonic The Comic) reader and I think that you Archie fans should have had a proper finale, not just end with part three of a four part story.

I agree that Archie and SEGA could have given the series a proper ending first before they pulled the plug on the series like that.

They literally killed it during the arc that was celebrating longevity of the franchise. It happened without warning.

Tbf, comic literally just wrapped Sonic Unleashed so that was some kind of decent stopping point.

Do you think that SEGA will eventually give the green light to a continuation comic of the Archie Comics, except that it's not under Archie?
