I'm still working on my vocals for "Nightswimming". I've been delayed slightly by problems involving my own band, but I'll get the vocals done soon.

I am having a little trouble here. I have to play it at the same time of the demo, right? But the demo lasts 3:42, and the version of the song I have lasts 4:16. Do I have to play it faster, cut parts of the song, or something else?

Aside from the lyrics used, our version and the original are unrelated.

I've set myself a deadline of thursday (no specific reason for that day, I just chose randomly); I'll definitely have it done by then.

Question: do I just do a straight cover of the song, or can I play around with it a tiny bit?

A little bit, but try to keep the majority of it at least recognizable.

also, we need a cover for our first single (that is, the song we're working on now) anyone have any ideas?

No ideas yet, perhaps we should wait until the song is done, then we can listen and think of a cover that goes with it.

It's not really that much of a cover, considering that only the lyrics/vocals are the same. See what you guys think of it, anyway.

I included the instrumentation as well. I think you told me previously only to record the vocals, but I must have forgotten (and I didn't read back through the thread). I'll do the song again, and only record the vocals.

It's strange. And kind of amusing. Although, I didn't really like the parts where the background overtook the singing. Didn't really sound right to me.

I like it, aside from my rather nasally vocals (though that thing I did at the end was alright). Has a nice weird/creepy atmosphere to it.

So, what are we doing next?

I dunno. I still have to finish polishing my album with SRC.
