Robots in Disguise was all Autobots vs Predacons, and Beast Machines was pure Maximals vs Vehicons. Beast Wars II probably counts as well; Unicron was technically a big part of it, but he didn't actually do anything until Beast Wars Neo.
Headmasters and Victory were also both purely Autobots vs Decepticons, and they both sucked.

Hasbro doesn't choose the ballots; the nominees we get to vote on are decided by fan poll. I'm voting Grimlock, though I helped get both him and Waspinator in.
By the way, it looks like there's going to be an Ironhide in Prime. Ironhide, Soundwave, and Ratchet are the three that will be inducted by Hasbro's decision. Since Hasbro always wants to push the latest incarnation, and Ratchet and Soundwave are both important characters in Prime, it makes sense that Ironhide will be making an appearance soon.

If I may be controversial with my first post, I have to say I got into Transformers with the Unicron Trilogy, and I don't seem to see what's the problem with those series, apart from those stupid kids. It's been ages since I've seen them, though, so maybe my tastes will have changed?

If you haven't yet, you should watch Beast Wars and the g1 movie. I haven't seen much else of g1, though.

I actually own the G1 movie. Haven't watched it in ages, but I recall liking it. Except for the humans, they were kind of annoying.

Has anyone watched TFCog's Victory fandub? It's gone on pretty long and starts off a bit rough but when the actors start sort of finding their niches it gets pretty good.
The only thing I hate is that the later Victory episodes spoil the plot with a recap reel before the episode starts.

The first two seasons are hit and miss, upon rewatching, but the post-movie episodes still hold up admirably, IMO; unfortunately, shame Headmasters fucked it all up.
Masterforce and Victory were decent shows, though.

To this day I still love Beast Wars. If I had to pick a favorite it'd probably be Rattrap. I love the guy. Or bot.
I also like how well the animation has held up, especially in seasons 2 and 3. Transmetal Megatron is my aesthetically favorite of the entire cast. He's a damn good villain too.
