I was thinking about starting this thread a while back, but never did. Thank you.
So, I think that:
- Beast Wars was the best transformers series by far.
- Beast Wars' Megatron was the best Megatron.
- and finally: SOUNDWAVE INFERIOR. DINOBOT SUPERIOR
Ok after seeing the new trailer I think I've become disheartened. I just don't think it's gonna be a good series. The CGI looks kinda crappy at times tbh and the designs could have been a lot better.
A wish is never free. Are ya nuts? It looks great. Save for the Humies, of course.
I can't seem to find any decent quality trailers, could someone toss me a link?
I'm really exited for Transformers: Prime. I have no idea where to watch it though, as 'The Hub' doesn't air in the UK.
Does anybody else have a Masterpiece Optimus Prime? It's all the awesome of G1 combined with our fancy 21st century powers of making toys that don't look like they were made by gluing random shapes together.
I have a podcast! I think that you should listen to it.Yup, I picked up the US "combat damaged" one and later the "cartoon accurate" 25th anniversary one. They're awesome. And heavy.
I liked RID because of Team Bullet Train.
Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar who could drink you under the table~I have the 'combat damaged' one, which is so unnoticeable I've often looked at and gone "Oh yeah, it's the combat damaged version, I completely forgot."
RID was just made of pure awesome, I used to watch it all the time on Fox Kids. Some of the voice acting was of questionable quality though (I'm looking at you Omega Prime).

I have a podcast! I think that you should listen to it.It certainly didn't hurt that the RID toys were pure awesome.
I wasn't a fan. Far too much kibble and shellforming. (but then again, I had a Side Burn, which was known for both features.)

The sad, REAL American dichotomyI have thing for the complex little guys.
Alternators/Binaltech and Masterpiece are my favorites.
again, I preferred beast wars by far
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThe RID Optimus Prime was the second TF toy I owned, that thing was fucking awesome.
Does it make me a terrible person if I prefer Beast Machines to Beast Wars?
I have a podcast! I think that you should listen to it.Yes. Yes it does.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyIt makes me feel inferior that I've only ever seen two episodes of Beast Wars.
visit my blog!I agree with that assessment.
The characters on the whole may have been flatter, but it did have one of the most complex characters in the screen * history of transformers in Dinobot.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI think all of the episodes of Beast Wars are posted on Youtube.
Watch them. NOW!

Or you could download them via a handy torrent! Like I did with every Transformers series ever made.
More horrible opinions I have: Armada Megatron had the best voice actor ever.
I wish the G1 episodes were being made now, sometimes the 80's writing gets nearly unbearable.
EDIT: By gosh! Same guy, I never knew. You learn something new everyday.

I have a podcast! I think that you should listen to it.that's not actually a terrible opinion on the voice actor front, considering it's David Kaye again, reprising the role of a megatron from Beast Wars.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThey're showing G1 episodes on The Hub.
I should tune in.
Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar who could drink you under the table~I wish this 'The Hub' channel existed in the UK as it sounds like the best thing ever.
I have a podcast! I think that you should listen to it.You know what we should have? A new, good Beast Wars fighting game in the vein of No More Heroes, Mad World or other Beat Em Ups with bosses. Or maybe G1 Vs. Beast Wars Because honestly, fuck everything that came after. Especially the Bayformers. Waspinator would have an in-universe reason to be a Fragile Speedster, and you could make an Arcade Mode where The original Starscream takes on everyone who seeks to challenge his title.
I don't mean to sound like too much of a Beast Wars Fan Boy, but it really was the best to me. I tried RID, the Unicron Trilogy basically killed my interest in transformers (it was so boring), the first movie was decent, but "Revenge of The Fallen" was a traveshamockery against film.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyBut yeah, that would be a great idea. I would probably just play as Inferno all the time and spam "B: Burn everything in front of you while laughing maniacally."
And the original Starscream as a final boss? I'd prefer the Vok.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.
Odd, the super-silliness is why I liked Robots In Disguise, it took all of the unintentional hilarity from the first series, run with it and never looked back.
