Can somebody tell me how to get the game Pia Carrot He Youkoso! to work? I did the patch, and everything, but the game won't work right. It shows up as an audio CD for some weird reason. Any help?
No idea what you're talking about. Do you mean that you Acquired It Perfectly Legally and it's in the file of an .iso or .mdf or something?

http://www.projects.mattsmessyroom.com/welcometopiacarrot/ is where I downloaded the patch from. I did all the steps in the readme file. I mounted the disc. DT Lite shows the disc as an Audio CD instead of an actual game. Very confused on how to get this to work.
Just run the CD. If it's not working run the setup file from inside the CD. If that doesn't do it then I don't know, I haven't played that and I'm not familiar with its problems.

So, reading Koichoco. I already don't like the main heroine and I think the antagonist is right to want to dissolve their club. That's a promising start.
Im the opposite, i like the main heroine, and a cannot see the main antagonist as anything but a stuck up witch
Help me find a cool signature plzReally? Have you seen any scenes really focusing on her? I could think of criticisms to make about her but stuck up witch wouldn't be among them. Even if she was that doesn't mean she's wrong. They have absolutely no justification for stealing club funds to spend on snacks instead of actually doing food research or at least cooking, which they all refuse to do apart from Yuuki.

Trying to choose between a few novels on Steam. Right now, I'm really looking for something more "fun" and light-hearted. I know drama can be fun too, but since the V Ns I'm looking at are like most typical V Ns about a bajillion hours long, I don't want to have to think or cry too much, but still have a pretty decent story and lovable characters. Basically an overall idealistic VN that's also "good."
I'm looking at G-senjou no Maou, Nameless: The One Thing You Must Recall, and Dengeki Stryker.
Kindred Spirits on the Roof is also coming in just a couple of days, and from what I've seen in the trial edition, the music is like...really good and it also seems pretty fun. Plus it's yuri which earns it brownie points for sure. Seems like the default price is pretty expensive though...I'm guessing/hoping the lewd scenes will be removed for Steam, but not sure. Like it looks very cute, but the entire premise is based on lewdness.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Kindred Spirits on the Roof actually made it into gaming news because it was the first "eroge" allowed uncensored on Steam. From what I've read from those who've read it the sex scenes are no worse then an R-rated movie (as in no pixelation or anything too graphic).
I started reading Yume Miru Kusuri, which is a VN I've always had in the back of my mind because I was curious about its premise. In fact, I tried to install it when I was like 12 and gave the home computer a virus (12-year-old Assassin: "Durr, what is legitimate site?") I'm not sure what to think about it so far. I can't even figure out what route I'm on.
Positives: The artwork is nice, some of the scenes between the brother and sister are funny, seems to be building up to something interesting.
Negatives: Seems very filler-y so far, weirdly crude/offensive lines from the protagonist (referring to a girl's dance as "retarded", comparing getting trampled for lunch to a girl getting raped), some of the scenes between the brother/sister are creepy (They're supposed to be Naked People Are Funny-type scenes, but the length of time he spends demeaning her private parts is unnatural.)
"A buddy is a buddy no matter how nutty."Mental issues are the name of the game there. Don't expect the protagonist or anyone else to be a beacon of morality or emotional health.
Anyone here played Tokyo Babel? I'm thinking about getting it off Steam at some point in the possibly-near future. Looks interesting, and I've read some positive reviews.
EDIT: Probably shoulda put this on the recommendations thread. If so, ignore this.

I haven't gotten around to it yet. No clue.
A fuckton of good V Ns are on sale on Steam right now.
If you were waiting to grab some of them, this might be the time.
Until recently, there weren't any wiki articles on NomnomNami's games, so I thought I'd mention that they're all free and really enjoyable (and generally involve yuri romance). Her most recent game, her tears were my light, uses visual novel mechanics in unconventional ways to implement time travel.
I have a quick question about the Da Capo series: do you need to play the first game in order to enjoy 2? Because I don't really want to play the first game because of how dated it looks, but 2 doesn't look so bad.
I don't think so. There's continuity but it's not that important and the important stuff is explained anyway, I think.
The original DC easily had the better protagonist. DCII has better writing in general though. Except for Nanaka and his brown haired childhood friend, they're both terrible and have terrible routes.
I liked Nanaka's route (not so much the character) but I also never played it straight, when I did that route I had veered off from Koko's route towards Nanaka's.
I do agree that Koko and her route are terrible though.
In regards to playing 1 before 2, there's a route in 2 (which is particularly my favourite route in the game) that probably won't hit you as hard as it should unless you play 1.

So because the patch of sweet pool is in beta testing and Nitro+Chiral's visual novels sound interesting to me, I've started playing Togainu no Chi recently. It's pretty good so far, though I still have 4 routes left at the moment. I plan to start Lamento - beyond the void after completing it.
"Strategy? Spacing? I just keep punching until I hit something." - Sol BadguyDid you know that, only in Japannote , way, way back in the year 2000, there was a visual novel released...on the Game Boy Colour?
Yes, really. It's an installment in the Pia Carrot series. Chiptune background music, low-poly CG, & all. Am I the only one who finds this hilariously weird?
Now, I'm wondering if there were any V Ns released for the Famicom...
Anybody know where I could find a video walk through of To Heart 2: Another Days?
Anyone know enough about School Days HQ to lend a hand? I've done the Setsuna chapter (the version where Makoto has sex with her) and I'm trying to cross off every other branch of the following chapter 5 (where Makoto gets Hikari to arrange a double date at the pool with Sekai and Taisuke), but I don't know the requirements for getting to the top path of that episode. I've done the one where Sekai doesn't show and Makoto goes to her house, and the one where they buy an extra ticket for Hikari, but Makoto brings Itaru along too, but after the latter it just jumped straight to Kokonoha arranging for the three of them to eat on the roof and Sekai kissing Makoto when he falls asleep. I assume there's either a continuation of the pool scene, or they end up going again since one of those branches is called 'The Poolside Kiss', but like I said, I don't know how to get up to the top path.. The bar is completely red btw. If I have to get more Kotonoha points I guess I'll have to completely redo chapter 4 making sure it only just stays in Sekai's side.
Also, are 'The Festival' and 'Premature Feelings, Discarded Feelings' the same branch with minor differences? I've got the full route map on my phone, but can't see where 'The Festival' differentiates from 'Premature Feelings.'
EDIT: Nvm to the main question, after looking at the wiki's page for 'The Secret Kiss', it has the requirements for the other episodes. I think I have to time out the option when Sekai asks if Makoto is free on the weekend so that he doesn't bring Itaru. Other question still stands though.

Can't think of anything witty, so have this instead...I highly recommend Doki Doki Literature Club. It's free and a great game.
The is the most Meta VN ever and I want to discuss it with those who've seen where it goes.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.In December 2016, Yasmin Perry asked, "I'm wondering if there were any VNs released for the Famicom."
There certainly were. One was officially released in English in 1991 under the title "Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom." Also, if you're still curious, there were a handful of other untranslated visual novels on Gameboy Color.

@ Rhyme Beat: More then New Dangan Ronpa V 3?
Speaking of which, since Spike Chunsoft made all of them, a crossover visual novel of Dangan Ronpa, Zero Escape, and Corpse Party would be pretty nuts.

Shiny Days got less bad once I got into it. But it's still kind of hilariously stupid at times. And I guess the writers have balls given that the ending I just got has a girl literally pimping out Makoto.
I kind of want to read School Days solely so I can see Sekai get stabbed to death. Otome and Karen too, if possible.
Setsuna has really grown on me. Apart from her mom, Sekai and Kotonoha's moms though I think I dislike almost everyone else. I've heard they weren't this vicious back in the original game even if they might stab you to death but here they are just vile, especially Sekai, Otome and Otome's little sister.
