I don't think she can not know. My guess would be that the only reason she can even hide her tails is because she's more powerful than any other we've seen.

Yakugashi was able to hide hers, and she only has two tails. Not sure if we've seen Mugi do so; I don't think so ... Similarly, Ashe only has one, and I don't think we've seen her hiding hers either. IIRC there was something about two being the minimum for powers, because they wind up with multiple spines sharing the same physical location and the physics-fuckery inherent in that lets them do other things too.
Fair, but the point is that there's no way that Megumi is unaware of it. It's not like she's some random girl from a normal family who might somehow miss this, she's got kitsune is her family already.

I would like to touch the fluffy tails.
It feels like she's forgotten she has her tails out. That's gonna cause her problems with someone, either her family who didn't know she had so many tails or one of the customers. Are there any ninjas in the hotel right now?
Last time we checked there was a pile of unconscious ninjas in front of the hotel, but that was yesterday in-universe, so they're probably gone by now.

Not sure why she's so annoyed with them.
Confirmed that the tails are fluffy, and she definitely didn't mean to have them out.
Wow, she never even told Ashe? Or maybe Ashe is just goggling at Kimiko.
Or maybe she's been subconsciously hiding them her whole life and genuinely didn't realize herself
Also, Kimiko's Squee face is nearly as good as Asako's.

Most of her family consists of kitsune, so I don't understand why she's suddenly so racist against them.
Well, even Grandma Eight-Tails insists that kitsune are monsters. Although she's probably old enough to be old-fashioned in a variety of ways.

Oh shit, she's also a kitsune. With a full nine tails, too ... not exactly what I expected for someone initially introduced as Kimiko's coworker at the restaurant. Although I suppose being a kitsune is fair enough, given that all of her other family members that we've seen are too.
