I downloaded it because i wanted to try a visual novel, and it was free. And english. And legal.

Well... It's odd. I'm playing a video game, but i'm not violently dismembering a legion of mechanical horrors or unspeakably evil demonspawn with my bare hands at every corner. I've never done that before.

It's... Sorta nice.

I tried this game, actually, but it was boring. I guess Visual Novels are not my thing.

I appreciate the work they've done in making sure it works on Linux - just unzip into a directory,click the shell script and go. It is a tiny bit dull,but the presentation's one step above other fan-games. It could really use some basic animation,but I guess that's a limitation of the engine.

Misha is the Haruhi figure,no question.

So far,it's been merely alright. We need to show Glasses Lifter's hand movements though - turning from side-to-side won't cut it.

My interest was piqued when I came across Lilly and I had some *gasp* interaction. She's a lot less annoying than Genki Moeblob and Glasses Lifter,too,especially since Our HNNGro starts acting like a typical romance novel protagonist.

Off to the library,and I manage to scare off Honya Hideface by introducing myself confidently. Fail.

I get assaulted by Harry Potter Ned Ryerson (or HPNR for short) and his feminist conspiracy theory on the way back. I'll admit,this was amusing.

I was going to poke fun at your people skills at first, but then I realized that that would probably be insensitive.

It's a relatively common mistake, actually, even though it can actually be explained very well: In that moment you had to make a choice, Hanako was in a stage of observation. She's like a scared little kitten who's observing you trying to decide whether you're going to pet it or eat it. At that moment, it's best to make clear that you are no danger. Anything more aggressive than that could cause the flight reflex.

I used to spend half my conversations doing nothing but apologising and being nonthreatening,so yeah.

Anyway, Genki Moeblob Pink Haruhi Misha has shanghaied me into scrounging some plywood from the art classroom.

I find a new character - Rin, eating with her feet. It's oddly cute and yet weird.

She's the tactless,'tomboy' character,and it's kind of refreshing that she tries to guess what my disability is. And thinks it's my tackle. Riiight. 4chan,you so crazy.

After some comic business between Rin and myself,I'm surprised by Shiz and Miz,then I carry a can of paint for Rin.

Interaction again,this time with the nurse. Not wanting to risk a Nonstandard Game Over,I promise to start exercising.

I help Rin mix and paint a mural. End of day.

"Tactless tomboy character" doesn't even begin to describe Rin in her entirety, as you will probably find out later. Then again, I don't think Rin could be properly described using words to begin with. She is definately the most unique out of the female cast.

Back home,in the showers and HPNR asks me for money,stark naked - the leaf is a merciful touch. D-: HPNR's rapidly approaching Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist. Our HNNGro seems to agree.

In class,moar srs bizness with Lilly,Shizune and Misha. Ahh,the friction's due to a late report.

Dramatic staring! Between a blind girl and a deaf-mute. Uh...

Interaction again. Do I deny any more involvement and stay out of this little feud,or do I stick up for Lilly?

Attempting to make up at the end of class. Hehe,he mentioned that the festival was "serious business". (It took this player a wee while to realise that Misha's dialogue was also Shizune's,but the argument between Shiz and Lilly clarified it)

Hanako's edging her face around the door and I offer to walk her to the dinner hall. Triggered a flag! Except not,as she's that shy. We go looking for Lilly,with Hana occasionally using me as a shield when people pass by.

We find her,unsurprisingly,in her class. I see that HPNR's in there too after I offer to help with painting banners. (Have to admit,I'm getting into this. Breaking for dinner)
