Really love Dean and Hank reconciling. At their core the two really care about each other.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.

I just watched it, since it's now on Max.

This clarifies something from 14 years ago: In "The Revenge Society", Dean was revealed to be the inheritor to the title of the Sovereign due to Col. Venture being the original Sovereign. However, he's technically also the heir to the title on their mother's side, too.

Speaking of long-term storytelling, I'm watching quite a few lore based episodes, starting with Shadowman 9 (s3e1), and I just caught something that made me decide I'm going to "blog" the things I notice here. Anything referring to the "movie"/"season 8" will be spoiler tagged, but other things won't.

  • Shadowman-9: In the Cradle of Destiny (s3e1): During the Monarch's backstory, he explains that right after the incident where Rusty got blamed for Monarch blowing up Underbheit's jaw. Right after that was the Movie Night Massacre where Jonas died (first mentioned in Careers in Science s1e2). Monarch asks the Council of 13 who killed Jonas, only for the Councilman later (s5e7) revealed to be Vendata of all people to immediately cut him off and change the subject back to the backstory. Of course, we much learn in Arrears in Science (s7e3) that Vendata is the prime suspect.
  • ORB (s3e9): This bugged me back when I first watched the episode, and it bugs me now. White mentions that it seems the person who came up with the riddle for where the ORB is didn't expect them to have the internet to solve it... but he himself was the one who pointed out that an earlier clue, a code on a show from the 70s, used a URL (website link) to a map navigating site. (He also credits himself for the Manhattan thing, and downplays his involvement in the "house that coke built" part mistaking it for Studio 54, but that one was obvious.)
    • The show directly states this in s7, but for clarity, the "great man" who Kano killed and had to take a vow of silence for was the Blue Morpho, as Venturion, when he glitched and attacked Rusty as a kid. And with everything else we found out throughout the show, the Blue Morpho was a better "man" than Jonas ever was, even if Jonas was a great scientist.
    • ORB was the first part of a three parter season finale with The Family That Slays Together Stays Together (parts 1 and 2). I didn't watch the whole thing, but I found out that there was an opening scene in Part 1 not included in the broadcast version, and unfortunately, the version on MAX is the broadcast version.

I just realized this series doesn't have an entry on the Do Wrong, Right page, despite that trope being one of the main themes of the series. Plenty of scenes could even be textbook examples used for the page's video, like any discussion between Gary and Malcolm, or this one with Red Death:

If I remember when I get the chance, I'll write it up eventually. But does anyone take part in adding videos to trope pages? If so, maybe you should think about applying one for this series.

I finally got around to watching the finale. Most of it I was thinking this was surprisingly well paced for a show with more lore than I can keep in my head trying to get a whole season of story into 90 minutes and then the third act chain of exposition dumps happened. That could've really used at least another half hour to an hour.

I can point to sequences that were clearly meant to be whole episodes but for the most part the condensed plot worked okay.

What was my first impression of this show? Two words: "is obviously". That's what I heard when I saw a second of the show when my grandparents were channel-surfing. This was in 2012, when Teletoon at Night was showing episodes as part of their "[adult swim] sneak peeks" before the launch of Cartoon Network Canada.
