Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

A good modding scene goes a long way.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Reminds me of when Metal Gear Solid V had yet to come out, and there was all sorts of drama and controversy regarding Kojima's feud with Konami, and then the game came out.
And we all moved on 2 weeks after the game released. Triple AAA games tend to have 15 minutes of fame, maybe more when the DLC comes out, and then it's on to the next one.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Re: Rebirth vs Remake sales
Besides the obvious platform availability issue; Rebirth 1) didn't get the extra hype that Remake got for being the start of the project, and more importantly 2) Rebirth didn't come out in the middle of a global quarantine while everyone and their mother is stuck inside and bored to death. Any analysis of sales that doesn't account for COVID is laughable at best.
Also 3) This year (and last year for that matter) has been incredibly stacked with major game releases. Remake did not have such competition.
All of that is to say, only a Squeenix Exec would actually think Rebirth's (or XVI's) sales are doing poorly. Because Squeenix Execs think Candy Crush profits are an attainable goals.

I do have to preface this by saying I don't have any real analytics to back this up aside from achievements/trophies. However, just given the drop-off between people who started part 1 and finished part 1, it feels like part 2 should expect less attachment.

People can be finicky. Several consider Tears of the Kingdom a disappointment because it only got a third of Bot W sales in a seventh of the time frame.
-Witty line-16 tonberries have enhancements
they got ' l e gs'
New theme music also a boxMy first thought was "why do they look like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?"
Oh, god, I didn't even notice that.

Heart of StoneHoly crap, for a second there I thought they were showing off his Tonberries.
That's....uh....yea. No.
-Witty line-"It's not always a sex thing!"
"IT'S ALWAYS A SEX THING!"
XVI Tonberries look simultaneously silly and disturbing.
Them being caked up does not help matters
in all likelyhood thats something left over from motion capturing,i think.
New theme music also a boxBetween VIIR moogles and XVI Tonberries I look forwards to XVII's weird redesign of a classic FF creature
What's wrong with the moogles?
So, let's hang an anchor from the sun... also my Tumblrthey just look weird. Especially the teeth
I’m also not a fan of how they look like weird koalas

WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE!
Yeah...that ain't right.
Disgusted, but not surprisedOh God, it's Ben Drowned....in Moogle form!
-Witty line-Not a fan of the ears either.
Disgusted, but not surprisedGoing back to the tonberry I wonder if the idea was to give Clive a tonberry partner hence the more human like design
16 tactics has tonberries as a playable race with thier own classes like ivalice did for the moogles

Nah, it's that XVI tonberries are explicitly "beastmen" with their own tribes and culture (though they're still exterminate-on-sight for humans, and the feeling's mutual), hence the more explicitly humanoid design.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Playing through the original FF 7. Halfway through disc 2.
I don't want to bother with chocobo breeding so I think I'm just going to tough out the Weapon bosses for the golden chocobo.

Yeah, seriously. What single player experiences nowadays DON'T feel like they just come and go?
I guess like, Elden Ring maybe?
