Zoo-goers, unite!

Going by Demetrios advice in this comment on Post your random thoughts thread, I decided to create Troper Coven for fellow zoo enthusiasts. And the timing for it is perfect as well, since yesterday we got new DLC for Planet Zoo, which is the best zoo game in my humble opinion. Here we can share news from our local zoos, post pictures of our zoo visits and talk about zoos in general.

Let my start first by sharing with you guys few news from my local zoo in Cracow:

We have a new resident, Yaro the lion from Ostrava Zoo:

Old birdcages near the entrance of the zoo are getting replaced by modernistic aviaries, while chimps will get new pavilion with japanese macaques as their neighbours:

And now something not from my hometown zoo. Baby giraffe was born in Chorzów Zoo:

While this isn't related to zoos technically, on January 21, there was an exhibition of terrarium animals in a Silesian city (they didn't said how this city is called):

Like I said on my list of the fun things I want to do this spring and summer, I have to wait for the temperatures in Wisconsin to be consistently above 70 degrees (Fahrenheit). But there are two there I want to go to again: Milwaukee County and Racine. :) I haven’t been to the Racine one since I was a kid. ^_^;; I’ve been to the Milwaukee County Zoo lots of times. It has one of my favorite creatures: African bush elephants. And you get to be separated from the largest and strongest cat in the world by a thick glass window. It’s an incredible feeling when he walks by.

For one that’s a little closer to home, I’ve got to go to Brookfield Zoo one of these days. They recently got bottlenose dolphins again.
