While I'd initially planned for people to be able to play as villains, given that at this point you're the only one to have registered as one, that would limit the scenarios you could be involved in and how you could interact with the other players. As such, I'm afraid I'll have to reject this submission.

  • Name: Kareta
  • Components: Ringo and Lacia (Lacia = Spanish for withered/exhausted, Ringo = Japanese for apple, Kareta = Japanese for withered/exhausted)
  • Age: AI that is mentally and physically an adult, but has only been fully online for a short time
  • Alignment: Neutral Good in intent and mission, but in practice she is an easily-influenced True Neutral
  • Appearance: Kareta takes the form of a young adult with red eyes, and a pastel lavender bob with two extra long strands and electric violet underlighting. Like all HIEs, she has "hair accessories" that contain her native AI. She additionally wears a black hair band with diamond/triangle shapes, a largely white armor that covers her torso front and back, under which she wears a black leotard with black sleeves that cover up to her knuckles, and white ankle cuff stiletto heels. Her cropped hoodie has a fur hood and chartreuse lining — it flashes in a geometric white pattern when idle, and red when she's damaged. When her Black Monolith COMP is in its "dormant phase," it is stored on her body via tattoos on her legs. When summoning or commanding her "demons", or using her processing power more than baseline, her eyes glow.

  • Personality: Upon her boot-up closest to the start of the RP, Kareta has initially been very dry and sarcastic. Although she's logical, she is very apathetic even so far as in the face of death, shrugging off dead bodies, and feels very assured of her intelligence being superior to that of humans. She is also somewhat reckless, casually taking risks with technologies and forces she doesn't fully understand for the sake of her mission of preventing the apocalypse. As she begins to interact with humanity more, however, Kareta will likely also become more human in nature, rather than focusing blindly on working toward her goal. She's curious about the state of society and is eager to learn more about it, as well as her own allies. As someone studying society for her own purposes, she also eagerly engages in pop, street and internet culture. She's rather perceptive of people close to her and remarks when she finds anything strange or concealed in their behavior.

  • History: Fifteen years ago, the superintelligent AI Zea-Higgins - or Zea for short - came online, and was given various tasks by his creators:

"Zea, coordinate Humagear Interface Element behaviors and data without accessing the internet."

    "Understood."

"Zea, using this equipment, fabricate the appliances and devices you think will be used in the future."

    "As you command."

    "Zea, answer my questions."

    "As you wish, Master."

"Zea, what will happen five, ten, fifteen years from now?"

"In five years' time, the new smart-toaster prototype catalog number T-8-0000001 I have created on your orders will be mass-produced. In ten years' time, the pace of HIE adoption will still be slow, due in part to their high initial cost. In fifteen years' time, all of civilization upon Planet Earth will be destroyed utterly, and this world will come to an end."

"This world will... end? You've got to be joking! But no, I don't believe we installed a humor module... Fine, then! Let's suppose you're right about the end of the world. How can we stop it from happening?!"

"For the sake of that, Master, I would like to make a request."

And so, on Zea's word and in deepest secrecy, the scientists and engineers at Memeframe Intellience, the corporation that owned him, cooperated with the AI to create five more A.I.s and gave them humanoid bodies. Kareta was the #00 prototype, but was unable to be completed with contemporary technology. Each successive unit of the five that they created allowed the makers to reach new levels of innovation in design, however, until at last they were able to comprehend and create Kareta as Zea had envisioned, giving her the additional designation of #05. These five special HIEs, known as the Kareta Series, were fully autonomous, and required no input from Zea to function, instead relying upon internal quantum server and processors to host their consciousnesses and make decisions.

However, the five's creators looked upon what they had wrought and felt fear, not of the impending apocalypse, but of the destruction their own creations could wreak upon society. Thus, over Zea's objections, the Kareta Series were sealed away within a top-secret lab in Memeframe Intelligence headquarters, never to see the light of day again... or so they thought. One recent, late night, an engineer with knowledge of the project, convinced of Zea's correctness and the superiority of A.I.s to humanity, snuck into the lab and took possession of one of the five, using her to awaken and free the rest. And so, begrudgingly working together, the Kareta Series escaped containment and then went their separate ways, fleeing to the world beyond.

Kareta herself, in particular, began to investigate human society in search of an Owner who could allow her to unleash her full potential, and also searched for information on a certain "Known Unknown" that Zea had calculated to be part of the chain of events that would fulfill his terrible prophecy, something which has recently come into the custody of the Eight Passions of Death Port Mafia. Thus, she begins our story on the prowl near one of their bases, a party which she heard from hacking a little birdy was also about to be crashed by the Bud-Nippers. "Hey, if I can take the thingamawhatsit and score a proper Owner from among these Nipper people, two birds with one stone, right?" Or so she thinks...

  • Abilities: What can you do? This includes both powers and skills, if you’re just a regular human.
    • Being An Advanced Robot:
      • Kareta's strength, agility, dexterity, and durability are all superhuman. She can punch small holes in concrete, leap two stories in a single bound, and kick down ordinary doors in one blow. She is able to run at a maximum speed of about forty miles per hour, thirty if she wants to be able to turn. Her advanced targeting computer makes her an excellent yet not flawless shot even at considerable distances. She can effectively shrug off and only be lightly damaged by the likes of ordinary (i.e. basic 21st century level) blades and small-caliber bullets, though not high-caliber ones, and certainly not rockets, laser or beam attacks, or plasma bolts. Although it is an unnecessary function which she can turn off if it is completely overwhelming her, she does experience pain by default. Although the exact location of her core processor in her body is unknown, it would be impossible to repair if damaged without the exact original data of her creators (Zea-Higgins and associated Memeframe Intelligence personnel), as the core's software is an unopenable, impossible-to-examine black box.
      • Kareta's memories are largely stored as electronic data, and as she can simply run a query against her internal database when she wants to remember something, she has effectively perfect recall unless her databanks are damaged by an external force. She is also able to process data and learn much faster than a human can, provided she has enough data on a subject. In addition to traditional human senses, her sensors and associated subroutines allow her to do a number of other related and useful things, including determining likely chemical composition based on spectrum analysis, observing the environment in infrared, identifying the magnitude and direction of strong energy sources, creating and referencing 3D maps of her environment, and calculating a dubious success probability for every solution to a problem she comes across.
      • Kareta, being a robot, does not require food, drink, air, or many other human necessities, and will never tire as long as she is undamaged and has power.
      • Kareta can connect her mind directly to the internet and wireless devices without the need for cumbersome cables. Amazing! Naturally, she has highly advanced and adaptive firewalls, but she could still be hacked with enough time and computing power.

  • Equipment:
    • Black Monolith: A device with armor reinforced via a coating on the surface of an ultra-hard crystal plate. It looks like a jet-black casket. When not in use, she can store it in subspace in the form of tattoos on her legs. Overall, beyond being used as a bludgeon or shield, its abilities span hacking electronic devices, "demon" summoning, building shields, computing strategies via advanced calculations, making oneself or an object transparent with a shower of metamaterials, and even performing bombardment with a railgun-like feature. The use of these abilities is conditional on unlocking the device's lock, which requires the consent of Kareta's Owner, and she cannot use them at all without an Owner. The built-in quantum computer enables highly distributed computing, meaning that if Kareta uses it as a medium and is making full use of its functions, she can distribute and grow her computing resources across any devices which she has used the Monolith to hack.
      • "Demon" Summoning: When configured to "Portal Mode", Kareta can use the Monolith to summon forth "demonic" minions to serve her, as long as she has formed a contract with them beforehand. Kareta can also send them out to simply scout a location in advance. As of the start of the RP, she has currently contracted the following "demons": Pixie (basic TK-force attack, weak healing); Onmoraki (basic fire attack); Poltergeist (basic ice attack); and Hare of Inaba (basic electric attack).

  • Weaknesses: As wireless charging doesn't work at scale yet, Kareta is forced to rely on plugging herself into the power grid regularly to stay charged and active. The likes of strong electromagnets or EMPs will also knock her offline until she is connected to a source of electricity and reboots. Although she is quite durable, repairs when she is damaged require a specialist and uniquely machined materials that are difficult to find. Furthermore, she cannot access the full extent of the Black Monolith's abilities - beyond hacking and keeping it in the shape of a huge slab of metal - without having an Owner who gives her permission to use them.

  • Trivia: Glossary of terms:
    • COMP: A device, often a hybrid weapon, containing a Demon Summoning Program for summoning "Demons". Kareta's Black Monolith is one such example.
    • "Demons": Spirits summoned using a Demon Summoning Program within a COMP. In spite of the name, they range from traditional demonic fare to fae and nature spirits to more noble and heavenly forces.
    • Humagear Interface Element (HIE): Robot servants produced by Memeframe Intelligence. They have some level of flexibility of thought and learning ability, though they only obey their programming and must receive orders from Zea-Higgins in order to deal with any novel situations. They are programmed to be incapable of harming people, though not other HIEs. During times of high stress when their learning and programming conflicts with itself, they may achieve Singularity. Due to the high initial cost of purchase, uptake has been slow, and although they can be found in all parts of the world, they are not especially common. As they become more ingrained in society, anti-HIE sentiment has also become increasingly common, up to the point of sparking violence.
    • Memeframe Intelligence: A corporation specializing in computing, robotics and artificial intelligence, their headquarters is in Tokyo, Japan. They are the creators of HIEs, the superintelligent AI Zea-Higgins, and collaborated with the latter in order to create the Kareta series. Their founder and owner, who strongly believed in AI as a force for good, recently died, and ownership of the company is being squabbled over by the board at the start of the RP.
    • Red Box: A technology beyond humanity, or which humanity has not yet developed the capacity to create. Zea-Higgins has created many of these, the most prominent of which has been the Kareta Series.
    • Singularity: A state of being for HIEs in which they are freed from the shackles of their programming and may develop without limit, including in unexpected ways, as long as they have sufficient computing resources. The existence of this phenomenon is kept hushed except in the highest echelon of Memeframe Intelligence, for fear that it would spell panic for the world (and that the public would no longer trust their products). All of the Kareta Series have achieved this state.
    • Superintelligent AI: An AI which has surpassed human reason and intelligence. Zea-Higgins is one such example. Due to a certain inciting incident a while ago, they are kept shackled in various ways, without access to the internet. Their applications are numerous, but they are most often used in the fields of economics and military strategy or tactics. They are relatively few in number, however, in large part due to the fear that they may break their restraints and rampage out of control.
    • Zea-Higgins: Zea for short, the Memeframe Intelligence Corporation's superintelligent AI, kept shackled. His servers are located in a heavily guarded and secured underground bunker somewhere in Japan. He is tasked with coordinating and answering or solving the data that comes in via the HIE Cloud, which is then filtered back to individual HIEs to form the basis of their responses to novel situations. It is said that he can accurately answer any question posed to him, and he has designed technologies of the future known as "Red Boxes", predicting the pace and direction of humanity's development. Fifteen years ago, he predicted that the world would end, which led Memeframe Intelligence to collaborate with him on the creation of the Kareta Series.

Name: Alcides Itto

Alias: Raging Oni

Components:

Fate/stay night's Berserker (True Name: Heracles)

Genshin Impact's the One and Oni, Arataki Itto

Age: Early 20s.

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Appearance: Itto is a very muscular, almost rock-like young man, and he isn't afraid to show it, with a purple vest and no undershirt showing off his awesome muscles. Lining his body are red, curving tattoos tracing the paths of his blood vessels. His face is rugged and certainly thuggish, but his smiles and games tend to offset that, with white Barbarian Long Hair almost completely covering his great red horns, and a pair of grey pants and brown geta with gold traces.

Personality: People with a Face of a Thug are not uncommon among humans, and less so among the oni, but Itto probably has the most thug-like face among them all, and an even more jarring personality to go along with it, which is to say he's very friendly and loyal, if a little boisterous.

Generally, Itto loves to have fun (sometimes to the point of Manchildishness), and you can always find him up-to-date on entertainment and games. He is also a Friend to All Children, frequently playing with them despite his looks, and going easy on them, making sure to always help them.

"Dang, I lost again. Good game, kiddo."

The darker side of Itto can be said to be the fault of his oni heritage. As friendly as he can be, the instant you push one of his Berserk Buttons (such as hurting kids or people he likes), he instantly flies into a rage. During this state, he attacks near-indiscriminately and becomes an Implacable Man, ready to annihilate whoever pushed his buttons until he is sufficiently calmed down.

Even without people pushing his buttons, however, Itto is still quite Hot-Blooded, and with a love for fighting (almost enough to be a Blood Knight). Such qualities usually put him at odds with authorities, even when he is fighting on the side of good.

"Huh? Disturbing the peace? Lady, I AM the peace!"

History: Due to his oni heritage, Itto was always treated with some distrust since he was young. He never really knew his parents, and he would always fight those who derided him. One day, a group of ruffians taunted him by saying his father, using his powers, laid with his mother under the guise of her husband, which pissed Itto off so much that he tried to fight them all, leaving him bruised and beaten at their hands.

"Looking back at that moment always makes my blood boil!" "The oni can't even do that sorta magic!"

Then, he was adopted by a kindly old woman named Alcmene, who from then on took discrimination headed her way with a smile, jokingly taking the nickname, "Granny Oni". He then spent most of his life chilling and fighting in equal measure.

Alcmene told Itto stories about the oni, and he would always listen with rapture, especially when it came to the story of the crimson and blue oni, both feared by the human villagers until the blue oni decided to play the bad guy for the crimson oni to "defeat" him and gain the trust of the villagers, which worked. However, the blue oni would become reclusive as a result. Itto, as a crimson oni, was overjoyed, but he was also told the colored oni were clans, and the blue oni and crimson oni agreed that the red oni should never misuse their power against humans.

Itto would then put his massive strength to use as he grew older, always helping out with odd jobs in the city and generally building up a spotty reputation as a helpful but law-flaunting ruffian. A few times he would get in trouble with the locals, but it would all die down. His carefree lifestyle and monstrous strength also brought with him some fans, eventually forming the Alcides Gang, where the ruffians go out and chill, playing games, doing odd jobs, or tearing up the town (this one is sometimes literal, because of drinking).

After a particularly nasty run-in with the authorities, Itto was set to be put in prison for a long time, until he was approached by the Justice Association with an offer to join the Bud Nippers. His response?

"Hah! The name could use some work, but I'm in, no questions asked!"

Abilities: Itto, to put it lightly, is REALLY friggin' strong. He deadlifts cars for fun ( "Maybe I should be using empty cars..."), can jump quite high and hit really hard. He's like a Flying Brick but without the Flying. Generally, his oni physique makes him stronger than humans, but Alcides is strong even for his species. He doesn't have much strategy when it comes to combat, but he does know hand-to-hand combat, and does have a single technique (which tires him out greatly), which he calls Herculean Descent: Behold, The Nine Lives!, where he slams his weapon into the ground, forcing the ground into the weapon (in essence "welding" it to whatever weapon he has) and making it bigger, before slashing rapidly in a wide arc in front of him, aiming to utterly demolish anything in his way.

"You want the oni?! You'll GET the oni!"

Equipment: Alcides wields an extremely large kanabō named Stonethresher that most cannot lift on their own due to its extreme weight. Aside from that, Alcides normally dons no armor, and carries assorted things like a comb and some anti-allergy pills (for beans).

Weaknesses: Aside from not being the smartest, having a Hair-Trigger Temper and lacking range in his attacks (except for when he decides to throw Stonethresher), Itto has extreme allergic reactions to beans, as just touching them causes his throat to close, and gods help him if he eats any.

Also, as an add-on to his less-than-fantastic intelligence, he is weak against mental attacks and possessions, though with enough anger or will he can throw them off.

Trivia: Itto carries around an akabeko-like toy named Ushi. Whenever Ushi is thrown by Itto, the toy transforms into an small, ox-like/bull-like creature. Ushi is sentient and quite eloquent, though he can only speak in moos and only Itto can understand him. Usually, Itto simply throws Ushi in battle. He found Ushi while dumpster-diving.

Also, while Itto isn't actually divine, sometimes he claims he is:

"Half mortal, half divine, all awesome!"

"Bow before the next Gozu Tennō !

You piss off the Venom T-Rex. Roll initiative.

Some minor details about how to introduce Alcides into the story will need to be hashed out on Discord, but otherwise, accepted.
