A general thread for discussion of operas and operettas (aka 'light operas'), both old and new.

This covers discussion of opera as a whole, specific operas, composers. specific productions (including Filmed Stage Productions)... pretty much everything, really.

That said:

...which doesn't stop you talking about any of those things here (they're still on-topic), but you might want to use the more specific thread.

And to start things off -

Sarah Angliss is interviewed about her new opera "Giant" and its betrayals and bodysnatching.

It's had some very positive reviews. Always good to see new, modern opera making a mark.

This is really cool! :) I got into opera cause of L'Orfeo and quickly made more Orpheus-themed opera pages, and recently branched out into Duke Bluebeard's Castle.

The Protomen enhanced my life.
