Draft description is where you put your draft for a trope page.
I can see how it'd be confusing, but "draft description" doesn't mean a description of your draft - it means here's where you put a draft of your trope description.
I see. Then why are all of the pending examples on the pending page 1-sentence long unless you click on them?
Also, it seems like there should be some specific place to pitch tropes so that someone doesn't go to all the trouble of writing a draft only for the new trope to be rejected.

Those are laconics. See Laconic Wiki.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThese all look like entries for existing trope and title pages though, rather than a means to pitch a new trope...
Well, yeah. But they're all just laconics. It's no different; just a one-sentence description of the concept for the sake of explanation without too many details.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSo how would I know if the laconic entry gets approved or rejected?
There's no such thing. You just type it out in the box.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessIt's not going to get "approved" or "rejected" in any way. You just need to add a short description so a) people know what your draft is about and b) it can save properly.
back lolBasically, the Laconic serves as what will go in the Laconic subpage for the trope if/when it's launched. It's just a requirement for the TLP draft to function properly.
I'm new, and I hope this is the right forum for my question. I want to launch a TLP, but they guide only talks about drafts, which I don't see a way to do from the Trope launchpad page (all I see are "launch a new trope", "Trope Laconic Title", "Namespace", "Page Type", and "Draft Description") And all of the pending TL Ps are single-sentence until you click on them. The TLP guide says nothing about this.
Then I wanted to talk about my submission first, but the place linked to on the TLP guide for discussing it isn't a forum. Really confused, here. I searched forum titles for the answer to this question, but there are waaaaay too many threads to choose from and it's difficult to tell which one has the answer I'm looking for.
There was also "Ask the Tropers", but this appears to exclusively be a place to ask about existing tropes rather than asking for how-to or general guideline questions.
(edit note: I don't actually have a draft fully written up yet. I was going to write some of it and then finish if the TLP got approved— which I initially assumed to be the process, but now I have no idea)
