Should "Dump Stat" and "One Stat to Rule Them All" be YMMV?

Looking at tropes based on audience reactions like Complacent Gaming Syndrome and Game-Breaker, it seems like the Dump Stat and One Stat to Rule Them All seem to be based on player response to said stats rather than mechanics within the game itself, even if the mechanics caused players to gravitate to seeing stats as "useful" or "useless".

I'm thinking both of these might be needed to be sent to the TRS to verify this idea.

Looking at both of them, they both seem to have a lot of in-universe examples (basically everything outside of the video game and tabletop game folders). So, rather than making them YMMV outright, you might instead want to split them between a YMMV and non-YMMV version.

Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.

Game tropes often fall into a grey area where it's hard to differentiate game mechanics and player behavior. A lot of in-game guides will recommend where to place certain stats for specific classes but players still have freedom to choose a different strategy. It's why Min-Maxing is a main trope and not ymmv, games tend to recommend a bare minimum in any given slot but still allow sacrificing all to punch the ideal stat higher.

Do you not know that in the service one must always choose the lesser of two weevils!

[up][up]Well, there is definitely games that encourage you to invest in certain builds, like the Key Ability in Dungeons & Dragons 5e. I guess something like Game Encouraged Build or something.

[up]Yeah, the more I think of it, the more this is going to turn into a debate about gameplay builds in general and how they should be handled by this wiki...
